Selling to a brand new buyer with zero feedback.
I sold an expensive item to a buyer that joined eBay today and has zero feedback. I’m worried that this is someone trying to scam me out of my item. Should I continue with the sale? It was paid for immediately and is close to $700.

·2 years agoWe should never assume that because a member is new, whether buyer or seller, it equals they are bad and will rip you off. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Not that is not to say you should keep a close eye on the transaction and hopefully you won't have any problems at all.
Without new members none of us will survive for the long haul. We need new buyers especially so we can all grow.

·2 years agoSometimes new members find "The Thing" they have been searching for and then open an account.
Usually not a problem.
OTOH longtime members, especially those with poor FB, mayopena guest account which automatically gives them 0 FB.
There are apparently only two similar items to your GHOST item currently listed and yours is better than the one at the same price.
Is there a phone number? Phone and ask if there is anything you should know about shipping or let them know that you will be using Signature Confirmation "for their protection" and they will have to pick up the shipment at the post office.
If there is no phone number give them that heads up in an eBay Message.
The "for their protection" is only partly a headgame. Dropping that value on a suburban porch is an invitation to thieves.
And yes, eBay only requires SC for purchases valued over..blah blah blah.
This is YOUR money you are protecting.
And Google the address.
The safest address is a postal mailbox where the renter has a key.
Second safest is a freight forwarder, where the MBG ends at the forwarder's doorstep
Third is a commercial provider like Mailboxes"r"Us or the like.
