I use a lot of variation listings because I sell cosmetics.
Not all categories support variations.
Begin by creating your listing. Between ITEM SPECIFICS and CONDITION will be VARIATIONS.
FYI: Variations is one line and easy to miss.
Go to editing pencil on the right of variations for a new window.
Now select or create an attribute. How are you going to differentiate between the individual items? The attribute should describe all of the options. Color, sizes, type and part number are examples.
Now select your individual options. I use the actual color name and color #, such as Rose Pink #997.
Once your options are entered you will be taken to a new window to add pricing, sku/ upc and post individual pictures.
It sounds daunting but actually the hard part is figuring out the title meanings.
