Selling Playboy laserdiscs
I have a few playboy laserdiscs that I could possibly sell. They do not have nudity on the front of the back. I have read through eBay's listing policies for such things and I am lost. It says you cant but you can if there is no nudity. I haven't listed any because I want to get someone else's take on it. There are 76 listed which is a decent number for the age of these things and a decent number sold. Most of them are rated R. Just curious on different takes. If you throw in Playboy VHS the number skyrockets.

·2 years agoI agree with @cardxcraft that it is a grey area. Listing the adult laserdiscs would entail risk, and only you can determine your risk tolerance and whether or not your account can take a hit if eBay considers them as prohibited.
BTW, you stated most of them are rated R. What are the others rated? If any are unrated or an X, then those would be in violation of the adults-only restricted item policy.
Good luck to you whatever you decide.

OP2 years agoI just needed a few people to tell me it might not be a good idea. I have other venues where I can sell them and not worry about repercussions. Thank you for the help.

·2 years agoJust spin the dice and list them as a lot. The worse that happens is that Ebay removes the listing and your back to square one. I doubt a single listing removal will impact your account. Over the past two decades I have had a small number of listings taken down by Ebay and it has never impacted my sales. Just don't ever relist an item that has been taken down by Ebay. Don't call, don't complain, and just never relist.

·2 years agoIt's a grey-area, and I try to stay out of grey-areas. I used to sell a lot of Nazi era airmail and postal history covers but took too many dings because of blurred lines. I don't need that kind ambiguity in my life.
Obviously, the laser disc itself contains no nudity, but the viewable/playable portion does.
If you read the forum history regarding Playboy magazines, etc, you'll see many posts from sellers having listings removed or worse. All it takes is someone reporting you or complaining. If it were me, I would stay away from it.

OP2 years agoThat is what I was thinking. I can normally understand eBay rules but this one has to much room for things to go wrong. I just needed someone to verify what I was thinking.
