·2 years agoYou sold the item as "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging" yet you have lots of pictures of it out of the packaging. The buyer probably saw that & figured they can leverage it being not as described into a free monitor. Watch how you list things!

Wait for the buyer to request a return - You are on the hook for nothing until that happens - If they do, you must accept the return - Make sure you document what happens and I would take steps to open the return in the presence of your mail person or Postmaster if you get something back.
Based on the situation, my guess is you are going to get a box of rocks back, or nothing, as the scamming buyer may ship something to your zip code as smoke and mirror - The case would automatically be closed in their favor since it shows delivered to your zip. Get the tracking info and bring to shipping service center to get info on where it truly went
If you are scammed, by the above mentioned,or any other scams, use the info you accumulated to file fraud reports with Shipping service and the local PD's also IC3 internet fraud report - If it was shipped to a freight forwarder and you can prove it went out of the country, you can win an appeal - If you cant prove it, it could be a lost cause - But regardless, use an ebay social media rep to help with your situation and steer clear of the overseas call center - They are in of themselves a scam in my opinion..
I wouldn't sell a thing here over $100 - actually make that $50 - I think the scammers are starting to run short of higher value things to scam - Best of luck

Tell the buyer to file a return, accept the return and pay for the return label. When you get the monitor back, refund the buyer. Sorry for your situation. It happens.

·2 years agoThis is tough, unfortunately your feedback is not sufficient to absorb the consequence. If I'm not mistaken this could put your account in jeopardy, generally ebay recommends we start out as buyers so we can have a few hundred feedback before we start selling because it doesn't matter where feedback comes from.
That said, you may have to make a few purchases to buffer the effect that negative will have, because even thou it no longer affects our metrics it is my belief ebay still frowns when our positive / negative percentage falls below a certain point.
And maybe I'm wrong, but I know at one time ebay would take action against a seller who had too many negatives in relationship to their positives. And it's not the sheer amount (as you only have one) but it's the percentage that matters, if I'm not mistaken.

I thought that feedback had no bearing on accounts being below standard anymore. Bad feedback might make it hard to attract buyers, but I'm pretty sure eBay doesnt do anything.

·2 years agoI can't tell from the feedback whether the buyer opened a NAD return request, whether they contacted you about it not working or if they just left feedback.
If they opened a NAD claim and you didn't agree to the return, they aren't wrong in leaving the feedback they did.
But if they didn't open a return request, send a message to the buyer letting them know that they should request a return and once you receive the item, you'll issue a full refund.

·2 years agoIf they don't actually try to return the thing then I would just move on with your life. Chances are if and when you get it back it is actually still fine and they didn't know how to hook it up and you will be out shipping in both directions and still have the negative feedback.

·2 years agoI just wanted to add one more thing,
Just because it was new in box doesn't guarantee that it is working and will power on.

·2 years agoI've sold a fair amount of computer peripherals and I offer some tech help, first.
Do they say what they did? If it's the Peleton touch screen there's a whole procedure in replacing one of those.
Though I see they already jumped the gun - I'm sorry.

·2 years agoRefund the buyer and let him keep the monitor.
-or-
Accept the return, pay for return shipping, refund the buyer when you get the monitor back.
You have no other options.

It might be prudent for the seller to wait until a return request is made. As @chapeau-noir suggests, some tech help might be useful to offer a buyer that was expecting plug and play installation for this particular item.
