selling limits
My seller performance is rated below standard for the past 3 months when I have been in a family emergency. I have been a seller on ebay for 20 years without this rating. I feel this is very unfair. Is this the end of the rope for me or do you have any suggestions to offer me?

·2 years agoEbay is a business & operates it in a manner it believes to be in it's own best interests.
It doesn't care very much about your or my feelings.

·2 years agoYour dashboard will show why you are being rated this way. As mentioned, your defect percentage must be too high, so they may have to age off to improve your rating. Look at the defect report to see how long you have to go for that to happen.

·2 years agoI know this won't help you but it is imperative for anyone with a personal or family emergency situation to immediately end their listings and or go on time away.

·2 years agoThose are the thresholds for being considered a Top Rated Seller. A seller who falls below those thresholds would be "Above standard." To get a "Below standard" rating, a seller must have problems such as excessive 'Out of stock" cancellations.

·2 years agoI recently contacted eBay on Facebook and engaged with a real person who addressed the problem expeditiously. It was a listing violation that someone here on the forums had reported but who could not get an eBay customer service rep to take down.
While I have not had your experience, I would humbly suggest doing the same: ask for a review of your account, and tell them that you will gladly provide evidence of your family emergency.
They will ask why you did not adjust your vacation settings, however. (NOTE: I am assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that vacation settings for an extended duration will protect you in this sort of scenario. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.)
In my experience selling here, you can get most issues resolved by connecting with just one competent person who is in the right place at the right time.

·2 years agoWhat does it show as the reason you are Below Standard?
I cant really offer any suggestions until I know what put you below standard.
eBay is a business and since everyone is treated the same when it comes to standards .... that sounds fair.

·2 years agohave they restricted you in any way yet? are they charging you higher fees for being below standard?
They only way I know is to list a lot of things at give away prices in order to raise your numbers.
