If you guys only take a little over 13% in fees, why am I only recieving $79 from sales of $101
Do you have to ship your items? Does the buyer pay you to ship the item? When the buyer paid you, did they include the funds to ship the item to them or did you offer free shipping?
You are correct that Ebay charges 13.6% FVF [final value fees] in most categories, on the total amount that the buyer pays. Plus a 40 cent per transaction fee [if $10 and up, 30 cents if below that].
Then when you go to ship the item, if done in Ebay, you pay for the shipping of the item because the buyer has paid you to do that too.
Now you can see the exact amounts that came in and out of your account on the Payment Summary page, on the right side of the screen. That you may find helpful to see the exact pluses and minuses in your account.
Confusion about final value fees comes up a lot, usually by people who are on the right track but wrong terminology.
My opinion is the final fee % is only useful in getting to the important part, total effective fees as a % of selling price.
My electric company on their web site says my electric costs $.12 or so per KWH but if I take the amount I paid and divide it by how many KWH I used it will be $.16 or so. If someone asks me what my electric rate is I say $.16
As mentioned by several posters... If you want a definitive answer about your fees, then you need to provide us with the detailed transaction fees as provided by Ebay.
If you are just posting to complain, and do not want an answer to your question, that is OK too.

All new and infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds, and large sales or one outside of your normal selling patterns will trigger holds as well.

As burton said, it's the total of the sales shown on a recent sold search of your items. It does NOT include that you sold 4 copies of the Sol Ring though so the real figure should be $94 in product sold and then your buyers paid about $7 in tax to get the $101 in your image.
ETA the fees you've paid are based on the $101 and NOT the $94. Then any shipping labels you buy through eBay will also come out of your total earnings on the report.
Are you aware that that little over 13% is calculated on the total of: the item sold price, the shipping fee, the state sales tax, if any and also on any promotional fees?
In other words, if you are comparing the final value fee with ONLY the price the item sold for, you are figuring it wrong.

The seller does not pay the sales tax, but the sales tax amount is removed from the buyer's payment to eBay before it reaches the seller, as is eBay's fee, and, depending on how shipping is paid for, possibly the shipping amount as well if the label was purchased on eBay using the funds from the transaction rather than, say, a credit card.
If you want a full breakdown of your actual fees, you will have to provide those numbers from your account; others here cannot see your transactions, particularly if they were not made using the account you are currently posting with.
Perhaps my response was not clear. No, the SELLER does not pay the sales tax, the buyer does.
But, when eBay calculates the final value fee for the seller on a sale, that calculation is made on the total of the item price, the shipping fee and the state sales tax, if applicable.

·10 months agoI always figure 14% (rounding up), plus the $2 listing fee, plus tax.
So, for me a $101 item would be $101-14%=$86.86 - $2 =84.86 - 8% (tax rate here) =$78.07 (payout)

You can look at the breakdown for the sale and see what fees were taken.

·10 months agoSeller doesnt pay the sales tax. Its collected by ebay but its part of the entire order total.
If you go into order details you will see itemized deductions and know exactly what is being taken out and why.
