when someone is watching a item and it sells sometimes the watcher will inquire about it because they do not realise that it has sold. They are confused because they can not buy it
Ebay presented an item that was already sold and a customer wants to buy it. How did this happen? What do I do?
First off, don't sell it to them if they haven't purchased it yet.
If they have purchased it, you'll have to cancel with an out of stock cancellation.
You either inadvertently relisted it, or it's one of those ghost listings which eBay had discussed some time ago (I'm not sure what the upshot of that was, but it doesn't matter).
