I want to accept an bid early in an auction because there are no other watchers - is this possible, and if so how do I do it?

I don't believe it is possible, at least according to the policy page on ending listings early. Though, why would you want to end it early? Not all people who bid on an item will be watching it ...

That policy page seems to be entirely about ending early by canceling bids, not ending early by selling to the current high bidder. However, I agree with lucky's advice to let the auction run.

You can end the auction and sell to the highest bidder, but I would never do that. Most bidders on eBay wait until the last minute.
