selling
Hello fellow Ebayers. Not only do we pay 13+% on selling price but additional + on shipping & sales tax. Isn't it just wonderful that Ebay taps into our listings to advertise & promote other items s& sometimes even my competitors listings. I thik my listings should be mine only, not Ebays opportunity to promote other listings What'd you think?

OP2 years agoThanks everyone for your input, don't completely agree with some. Ebay does make bookkeeping & paperwork very easy, small price too pay I guess. FYI can list on Amazon for 99 cents each or unlimited for $40 month

·2 years agoIt's a good deal. Instead of a bunch of white space on your listing, ebay has populated it with beautiful, well positioned, well thought out ads for other sellers items. Nobody likes white space....especially ebay.

·2 years agoeBay's final value fee, usually 13.25% in most categories, is calculated on the total of the selling price, the shipping fee and the sales tax if applicable. Those are all added together and the FVF is figured on that total. When you say "additional plus on shipping . . .", that is not entirely correct.
Your listings may be yours only, but you are listing on eBay's site, so eBay's rules and eBay's fees.

·2 years agoIt would seem that nobody that works for eBay uses eBay. At least nobody that makes any decisions.
And the stock price reflects this.

I think if you want to have listings be your own, then you should create your own website. If you want as much traffic & eyeballs on your website as you get here on eBay, then I wish you luck.
You’ve been a member about as long as I have, and you’re just now noticing the fees?
Isn’t it wonderful that eBay writes sellers fees in policies so there’s no surprises.
What you described regarding promoted listings is how it works.
