Sellers who appear to be scammers but have positive feedback
Anyone know what to do here? I was warned against sellers with a bunch of stock images for the products they're selling, and this one has crazy low prices...but the reviews are great. They're also verified purchases, many within the past month. Help?

·1 year agoAre you asking what to do about a seller who has good feedback and low prices? You leave him alone.
What you don't do is attempt to damage a seller just because "someone on reddit" told you that his stock images make him a scammer.

·1 year agoSellers who use a lot of stock photos aren't necessarily scammers - they ARE lazy.
"Verified purchases", as far as I can tell, basically mean nothing here. It arrived along with the forced product review with feedback, but one cannot leave feedback without a transaction.
I would purchase it if you wanted it and the seller FB looked good. Commodities are the same everywhere and there's buyer guarantee.

·1 year agoLazy? Well that would depend on what they are selling, if a seller is listing a used item or an old vintage collectible that is still "new" (sealed) that would be lazy.
If you are selling new/sealed currently available items a stock image is no different that a poorer quality image of the same thing that the seller took themselves.

I use stock photos for items I sell that are brand new in box in original packaging.
It doesn't make me a scammer ... but I am guilty of being lazy. 😉

·1 year agoIt is not uncommon for some sellers of liquidation stock merchandise to use stock images, particularly open box items which are product returns.
Avoiding such sellers is often the best alternative but NOT ALWAYS. Sometimes they can be a great deal.
B goods are B goods and many of these sellers know nothing about the product - even what the box should contain.

·1 year agoI agree with @powell-collectibles . There are many other sellers. I would walk away.
For the future, after you check their (sellers) feedback, you could always ask them to send you actual pictures of the items. They do not have to send you the pictures or even respond to you. How they do may give you a better understanding of the risk.

About which seller?
As a buyer you are covered by ebay's MBG (money back guarantee).
If you're still concerned, the solution is simple.
Don't buy from them.

·1 year agoThe seller looks legit, but does not have great feedback. Looks like the seller offers a lot of open box items – also known as returns. Personally, I wouldn’t buy, but it does not look like the seller is a scammer.
