Sellers check your sales
I just had an item sell for less than it was listed and I did not send an offer or have a sale. When I finally got a hold of eBay the rep told me there was an 18% discount but I sure did not send it. The rep told me I could just cancel the sale but I told him there was no place to put that it was eBays fault. Was on hold for a while but had to hang up because the rep could not transfer my call to a supervisor. Strange things happening lately, just be aware. I NEVER send offers at weird percentages. I will update if they ever figure it out.

OP7 months agoSo I guess it was just my account, but for some reason, and not done by me, there were a few dozen of my listings that had offers being sent automatically. Not sure how that happened as I always make sure that box is not checked. Guess I'll have to just keep checking on the offers tab.

·7 months agoI've had stuff sell for weird prices before. Like ending in .74 cents when I only ever end listed prices in .25, .50 .75, .95 or .99.
I don't use send offers so it's not that (or the easy pricing rort), but I do use mark down sales and I think what happens is every now and then when a sale ends the price doesn't revert to the original discounted from price.
It's random so that's my theory anyway.

·7 months agoI'm not saying that this is the case here, but every single seller who has ever come here complaining that their item sold for less than it should have was mistaken.

In fact, ALL your listings state 'or best offer'. If you don't want to use that- remove it for all.

There's no strike-through on the price, so that was not a traditional buyer's-best-offer sale. This usually means it was a seller-initiated offer. You should check your listings and make sure that they are not being sent automatically.
Definitely sold to an offer though. Marketplace research says $16.80 plus $23.53 for shipping.

·7 months agoDo you send 10% off offers using your phone? I have inadvertently created 18% off offers on my phone so many times now that I've added an additional step to my own process when I use my phone to send offers. Something about the app makes it super easy to hit 8 rather than 0. I've never once done it on my laptop.

·7 months ago@bbcardzman I've not had this happen, but regardless of what the CSR told you, do not cancel the sale unless you are willing to take an account hit. If you do, you are going to cost yourself way more in time trying to fix it. Unless they get flooded with calls that there is a problem, they will see this as a you problem.
Is there any chance anybody could have gained access to your account? Any kids that maybe got ahold of your phone and sent something like that?
