📢 Sellers: Check your orders!
There was a period of about 2-3 hours the evening of March 3rd where the Orders page was not populating data. It has since been fixed.
During that period, emails with order confirmations didn't make it through (at least not on my end) and no, eBay will not resend those emails later.
If you typically rely on email confirmations, especially if you have multiple accounts and don't log in to each of them every day, this is your warning. Log in to all of your active accounts and check your sales. Never rely solely on emails - they can fail for any number of reasons from a tech issue on eBay's end, to your email client blocking it as spam before it even makes it to your inbox or spam folder.

OP6 months agoPosting a quick update here on auction format listings that ended (with bids) during the brief outage last night. Sellers are reporting those auction listings are not appearing under 'awaiting payment' or 'awaiting shipment'.
@kyle@ebay provided an update: "our product teams are aware of this issue and a fix is expected to roll out sometime today!"
Thank you, Kyle. If anybody reading this sees sellers asking what's going on with missing auction listings that ended during that brief window last night, please let them know it should be fixed today.

How hard would it be for ebay to send a heads up to anyone having a sale during that time frame?

·6 months agoDoesn't every seller just check 'orders' box in Selller Hub and then see "awaiting shipment" multiple times a day (at least once)...if so

All I ever do with the annoying emails is 'delete delete delete'.

OP6 months agoA lot of casual / hobby sellers do not log in every day @stainlessenginecovers . They only log in when they're alerted to a sale or buyer question.
Imagine you're not an active seller, but you list a couple dozen items from your household one day. You essentially "set it and forget it" - you're not actively selling every day. Maybe a couple times a month you'll get a sale, and you ship when you get an alert. If that alert fails, then you don't know there's a sale because you're not logging in every day (and really, you shouldn't need to).
Some sellers with multiple active accounts rely on emails because all their alerts come in to one centralized inbox, and those sellers may not log in to every one of their accounts every day.
So no, it's not accurate that all sellers log in every day to check if they have orders. That's why I posted an alert. 🙂

·6 months ago@wastingtime101 I've been using ebay since it started in the 90's and worked a job 80 hrs a week and sold 'on the side' 'part time' 'as a hobby' while raising 4 kids, little league, having a boat fishing & trips etc. and I NEVER relied on 'emails'.
Even a 'once in a while seller' SHOULD check if you are listing, at LEAST once a day, even if it's just to 'answer questions'.
I think Relying on 'email' can only be deadly to your selling metrics.

I check my emails on my I phone in bed around 7AM to see if I need to get up early.
It gives me an idea how busy the day will be.
Those who have one-day shipping this can be brutal....

·6 months ago100% true, data centres have been knocked out in the midde east and its not only ebay, here in the UK its royal mail and various banking apps, I thought having multiple data centres stopped all this, seems the ones that went down are all AWS.

OP6 months agoMine have been back up for a while now and they've stayed up. Came back up not too long after my earlier post saying they were down again.

·6 months agoWhen they invented the WWW is was an ex military system, built to continue to be able to use if various nodes went down if they were attacked, now in 2026 with trillions of dollars flowing through it the basic remit has gone out the window.

OP6 months agoIt's temporarily down again - I guess they are still working on it.
I would guess, since it was back up for a while, they're close to a fix. Either way, I'm leaving it until the morning.
