of a buyer who calls himself XXX. I sold him a $12 item- he talked about magnets, wanted $10 to return it- I told him to keep it but he returned it with the golden chain missing- I found his phone, called him and he agreed to return the chain- Well, he did but it was a cheap chain, not the one that was included in the original item (as can be seen in the pictures of the original listing)

·1 year agoI'm sorry this happened to you. It is rare for any of us to have a buyer in common. There are just so many sellers, it is just not a usual thing to happen.
You can report the buyer for bad behavior.

·1 year agoYou got scammed. I’ve had it happen as well, and you just have to chalk it up to doing business. You can write it off your taxes as a loss.
I had a new never worn, turquoise necklace very nice actually, sold it. Got a nice price for it. Buyer said it arrived broken. I told them to return it for a full refund. Got it back. It was broken and there was so much make up and gunk coating the beads. It was absolutely gross. Obviously it was not my necklace. There was no way it was re-sellable, as there were numerous beads missing and I’m not sure I even wanted to touch the thing let alone clean it. So it was obvious the buyer decided to replace their broken necklace and make me pay for it.
I reported the buyer, blocked them from buying anymore of my stuff and took my losses, I wrote it off on my taxes that year and I was glad I wasn’t selling any more jewelry.
It happens.

You refunded the buyer who was under no obligation to return the item but returned it anyway.
All this fuss over a $12 item. Write it off as a loss when you file your taxes at the end of the year.
