seller standards
I don't know what e-bay's so called. seller standards areal I see is that I've fallen below their sewer stands with no real explanation,of what those standards are. or no real way to contact. and ask or complain as to what they are doing meddling in my account. blocking me from adding any new items. my sales have always been slow during spring and summer months, and pick up during the fall and holiday seasons. it seem's to me. their no one way to judge a seller's standards is my their feed back, customer satisfaction and approval, and mine has always remained high. 5 stars across the board. but e-bay obviously is more concerned about skiiming more fees from my sales than anything else. has any other sellers had to deal with this nonsense, and. what has been the solution

·4 months agojust for info........been a number of reports that auto relists have ended but not relisted....but later did relist.....so there may be more lag time than we are used to in the process.....
tobaccocardyahoo
·4 months agoAuto relists do not occur in real time.
They are queued transactions and the latency varies with system load, and may be affected by maintenance activity.
Functions that are not tied directly to processing an order, and updating inventory levels are not performed in real time.
Many Ebay sellers remain blissfully unaware of this until something appears to go wrong.

The seller standards are clearly explained in the Seller Level tile of the seller hub. It tells you exactly what the standards are, exactly how you were evaluated, and exactly which transactions generated defects.
has any other sellers had to deal with this nonsense, and. what has been the solution
The solution is to look at the Seller Level tile of the seller hub, determine what the standards are, and learn what it takes to avoid transaction defects.

·1 year agoRead/Understand this eBay link. https://www.ebay.com/help/home
This is easily info to find just do a Google type search from the Help & Contact. - just look at the bottom right hand corner of this page and most other eBay pages. Would thing a member sine 2004 would know. The standards have changed over the years but seller are advised by the ANNOUNCEMENTS messages.so one can stay up to date.
Once one gets up to date then one can proclaim to the eBay world I R A SELLER. It is vey helpful to read the eBay USER AGREEMENT (including all the embedded links (blue fonts) that you signed and agreed to.
Need help ask for clarity on this discussion board.

·1 year ago@william3284 if you are getting charged an additional 5% or 6% in fees, you have been allowing eBay to refund in your behalf instead of doing it yourself or been cancelling orders as Out of Stock.
Or, you have been getting too many Item Not as Described cases and your Seller Metrics are very high.
You can climb out of this dilemma as the defects fall off after a year. Just don't make any more mistakes.

It is likely that you cancelled orders or shipped late.
Check the numbers, the are easy to understand. They are not subject to revision.

·1 year agoThat link goes to Service metrics, I think the OP is talking about Seller Standards.

That is an unusual situation.
How are new listings being blocked? You have some 1900 items up at the moment.

·1 year agoAs pointed out...the metrics you refer to have nothing to do with your seller standards/rating.
Look at this page for some clues....

·1 year agoThere is a standard for Top Rated Seller which includes number of sales, I believe.
These are the standards for us Canadians, note that we can also qualify for TRS while using tracked shipping much less often than US sellers.
https://www.ebay.ca/sellercentre/protections/top-rated-program
Qualify as a Top Rated Seller
Canadian sellers can qualify to be Top-Rated in two separate programs. They can qualify for the Global program, which measures performance according to sales made to any buyers, and they can qualify for the US program, which measures performance only on sales made to buyers located in the United States.
To become a Top Rated Seller, you’ll need to:
If you’ve met these performance standards requirements, we’ll automatically upgrade you to the Top Rated Seller status at your next evaluation.
Losing the TRS status means returning to the normal selling fee rates.
But the OP is in the US, and since they have made only 36 sales in the past 90 days this may be the basis of the problem.

Slow sales would have nothing to do with falling below standards, and feedback doesnt matter either. What counts are any defects you may have, you can see those on your dashboard. Have you canceled any transactions or had late shipping?
william3284
OP4 months agosure I have times when I have to issue a refund, cause a buyer is'ent happy with the item, or it arrives broken through no fault of my own, or if I have an item that has been damaged in storage, then I cancel, and give refunds before shipping. but also, there have been many times when a buyer has canceled orders, before I ships that also a strike against me?I was also under the impression, that an item listed remains listed untill sold. I have had several messages in last few days of items that have to be relisted, some that have not been listed for the allotted time,i call that meddling. and if feedback, and customer satisfaction does'ent count for anything, then why even have it available.

·4 months agoThought perhaps your issue had been resolved since your original message is from July, 2025, and you currently have 782 listings.
To comment on your current post, a buyer cannot unilaterally cancel an order, seller has to agree to it.
If/when a buyer requests cancellation, and you, the seller agree to it, there should be no "strike" against you. Can you elaborate on that statement?
And, no, an item doesn't automatically remain listed til sold, you have to relist after 30 days if you want it to be listed longer.

·4 months ago"buy it now" items do automatically relist after 30 days. You have to manually end those listings, not manually relist "buy it nows"
