Hello everyone,
I honestly do not know what else to do anymore and I am hoping someone here can guide me because I feel completely helpless.
I purchased a microphone on eBay for about $967 and I NEVER received the item.
The USPS tracking history shows:
Notice Left
Unclaimed / Returned to Sender
Delivered to Original Sender
So the package was returned back to the seller, NOT delivered to me.
Now the seller has both the product and my money while I have absolutely nothing.
I contacted eBay support multiple times. One representative even told me I would receive a refund, but I never got anything. Now support tells me the case is closed and they cannot help me anymore.
I also tried contacting the seller many times politely, but the seller completely ignores all my messages.
I am extremely stressed and upset because this was a very expensive purchase for me and I worked very hard for this money.
I am not asking for anything unfair. I simply never received the item, and the tracking itself proves the package went back to the seller.
Has anyone experienced something similar before?
What should I do next?
Is there any way to escalate this situation inside eBay?
Please help me because I truly feel stuck and hopeless right now.

·4 months agoSorry this happened to you. Possibly the notice was signature required? If all this is true ( Item and tracking shows it was returned to sender, and sender is ignoring you) do a chargeback with your bank / credit card company

·4 months agoWere you not notified that you could pick up the package at the PO or headquarters of the shipper?
You usually have some time to do that. It does not get returned to the seller immediately.

·4 months agoWas item purchased from another country?
And usually one is given a few notices before one has to go and pick up item.
And was this USPS, Fedex or UPS?

·4 months agoPer the OP, USPS.

·4 months agoI mention shipping even though OP mentions USPS.
Buyer has purchased from China and Argentina before...
Some buyers assume it is USPS...

·4 months agoIt shows you received a notice to pick up your item since it would require a signature, you failed to do that so it was returned to the sender.
For this reason the seller is not required to refund you anything, although morally I'd refund you for the item only.
You can try contacting your payment source

·4 months agoThe seller sent this item signature required most likely to be protected since the value is $967. So you received a notice when your signature could not be obtained via delivery. Did you ever bother to go sign for the package? The seller followed eBay policy and was therefore protected from losing the case. The moral thing to do would be to refund you less shipping, but per eBay it is not required.

·4 months agoeBay’s Money Back Guarantee does not extend to items that cannot be delivered to the address provided by the buyer, unfortunately. As suggested by @jameshen1, you’ll have to contact your payment provider and see if they can assist in this.
I, too, am wondering why the item’s tracking states that the shipment was unclaimed. We’re missing some of the story.

·4 months agoIf USPS left a notice, why didn't you go pick it up, before it was returned?

·4 months agoIf this is actually what happened, you're the victim of a fake tracking scam.
This is what you need to do in order to appeal.
Go to the post office or call the postmaster in your zip code. Give them the tracking number and tell them you need to get written documentation that the item with that tracking number was delivered to a different name and address than your name and address.
Once you get that in writing, you need to go to ebay (instagram or twitter) and appeal, submitting the documentation.
However -- and this is a HUGE "IF"
If the seller shipped to you with signature confirmation as required by the dollar amount of your purchase, you were responsible for retrieving that item before it was ultimately returned to the sender. If you didn't do so, you will lose buyer protection.
