Seller protection
I was reading some different boards and thought I would share what happened to me.
We sold one of two silver plated urn ice buckets. Customer received it, gave a great review. Weeks go by and I get a notice from eBay that the customer disputed the charge on their card. They said it was junk and not as described. eBay had me complete some answers online, I included pictures of the item as well as the buyer's great review (copied and pasted). The credit card company closed the dispute in my favor.
Just wanted to share this. I hope it may help someone else.

·5 months agoWould I be right in saying that the case was that they disputed/didn't recognise the charge. And "it was junk and not as described" was just their comment to you. That would go some way to explain the win as you would have only had to prove delivery.

OP5 months agono. They specifically had in the complaint that what they received was not what they bought. They said it was not in good condition and wanted the credit card company to give them a credit for the purchase. They really stressed the condition.
I attached pictures of the item and copied and pasted their very nice feedback on the item. The silver-plated ice bucket was perfectly polished and was beautiful. The pictures were good of every angle. But I also believe their glowing feedback was detrimental to them.
In all the years on eBay, that's the first time we had ever had that occur. I just thought it would be good for other sellers to know what I had done in hopes that it would be helpful if they find themselves in the same position.

·5 months agoThat's great, glad credit company ruled in your favor (good thing the customer had left "positive feedback" which gave you the evidence needed to win this case).

·5 months agoPositive feedback isn't considered as a factor in the case either by ebay or the CC company. Just getting it doesn't nullify any future issues. But I'm glad you won the case.
