Seller only sent some of the items, no resolution yet with customer service. Suggestions?
Hey all,
Wanted to ask for advice with an issue I'm running into.
Purchased a large lot of goods from a seller in one large lot, they sent me about 33% of the items from the listing immediately which arrived on time. They informed me the remaining items were coming soon but Ebay only allows a maximum of 5 tracking #'s for a purchase, so the remaining boxes are on the way. Instantly got wary here - fast forward and items never arrived, lots of excuses from seller, no tracking #'s or items. There is a very clear record in my chat history, on ebay, with the seller showing they agreed they haven't sent the remaining items from this listing and they've gone dark since.
I filled an items not received claim well within the 30 day report window and gave it 3-4 days as suggested by Ebay but seller never responded, so I checked in with customer service. The rep told me since I received some boxes, that claim would be denied and suggested I close it and open a return with items not as described. I did so and the seller immediately, within minutes, rejected the claim. No option to escalate the claim to Ebay has appeared on the listing since (been over a week now).
5 days ago since no escalate option was available on the item on Ebay I called customer service again, who referred me to the high value claims department. They told me they would put a hold on the sale and escalate and investigate and get back to me within 5 days.
I didn't hear back so I called in today and the customer service rep I spoke to wouldn't transfer me to high value claims and told me they decided since it wasn't returned within 3 days of receipt I'm SOL. No one called me back, I had to call in to find this out. The Ebay guidelines say I have 30 days from expected receive date to file a claim, I also did exactly what customer service asked me to in the first place.
I told them they can clearly see in my chat history on Ebay the seller has confirmed they didn't send me everything from the purchase and they have gone dark since and refused to reply and I'm being stolen from here. This morning the customer service rep said they'd talk it over with high value claims and get back to me. (this is my current status as of posting now)
I've followed the guidelines and recommendations of Ebay customer service every step of the way here from the start but this one seems like it's going in circles. The item listing remains showing item return denied and no other options are available.
My account has 25 years of deep history with 100% positive feedback, the sellers account is relatively new with a small amount of sales and feedback. I've spent a good 10+ hours on holds, chatting with customer service, etc.
Anyone have any suggestions on ways to help have this resolved I haven't considered that might be helpful?

·9 months agoI guess you can decide how much (percentage wise) the items you received are worth and request a certain amount back.
But if it were me, I'd request the entire amount back. This seller has ghosted you and you've wasted hours of time trying to sort this out. I would not consider any percentage of this transaction to be "as described".

OP9 months agoOne single listing, so just one single CC charge back.
Wwas just a very large lot of items included in that listing, which I only received some of.

OP9 months agoSince I received 33% roughly of the items, I assume I should request credit card charge back for the remaining 67% of the cost of the item.
For those with experience with CC charge backs is that correct? Or does it reduce the odds the charge back goes through if I don't request the full refund?
I'd prefer to only get the money returned for what I'm owed since I did get some of the items in the lot but don't want that to cause the entire charge back to get denied.

·9 months agoHow many items will be listed as a cc chargeback?
I have some experience.
Even though eBay is stepping aside for this cc chargeback...you will get a rather not so nice email from eBay if there are too many items in the chargebacks.
I need number of items and not a percentage to understand it more.

Was one large lot of goods all contained within a single ebay listing.

·9 months agoI don't think customer service reps can do anything physical...only talk.
And emails back and forth won't really add in anything to the situation
Items were listed separately?...but sent together?
I am having a problem understanding the tracking part.
Each item if not in a lot should have a tracking number if you purchased more than one item.
Any item without a tracking number you can do an item not received...I think but not sure.
When I have a shipment of 20+ items sent together I add the same tracking number to each and every item sold and mailed together even if they were separate items.
I would try to do an item not received on any individual item without tracking.
Just ideas here.

·9 months agoThere are certain items that require a return to be opened within 3 days of tracking showing delivery. It looks like your items were in that category.
In this case, you're wasting your time talking to ebay reps, and and you will need to file a chargeback with your credit card company. Use the reason "Item Not As Described".

·9 months agoFile a credit card charge back -
CS is seldom helpful and will give you information you want to hear.
The MBG was only good for 30 days from receipt.
The request to return must have been done later than 30 days.
Just go to your CC and file a charge back.

Since you received something, Not Received is not the correct claim to file.
You should open a Return with the reason "Missing Parts or Pieces".
Because the seller is already hemming and hawing about the rest of the lot, do not request a replacement.
And, Since that is a "Not as Described" reason, it falls under the MBG and the seller is required to issue a return label or a refund within 3 business days of opening the request. The choice to refund or send a label is the seller's, not the buyers.
If the seller does not respond to the request, you can ask eBay to step in on the 4th business day after opening the request.
If the seller (or eBay) sends a return label, use the label to return what the seller sent you. When it is delivered back to the seller, the seller will have 2 days to refund you. If they do not, you can ask eBay to step in on the 3rd day.
EDIT : My reading comprehension is apparently not in working order today. I totally missed that you already opened the return. The seller should not have been able to deny an INAD return?
