Seller limits
I've been on Ebay for close to 18 years. My seller dashboard is amazing, I'm top rated, and if Ebay were to review today I'd still be top rated. I've done $19,000.00 in sales in the past 90 days. I'm not able to list anything. Evidently I've hit a cap of $35,000.00 in inventory and am unable to list. I've called Ebay. Spent almost a day on the phone with them. They're telling me they can't raise my limit. They want me to wait it out until the end of the month. I've taken a few high dollar items off for now. In hopes that this doesn't happen next month. This is frustrating I'm sitting on a bunch I need to list. What can I do? I feel like my hands are tied. I've only recently bought the beginner level store maybe 3 weeks ago. Any help greatly appreciated.

Bottom line is you can apply for increased limits every 30 days.
Back 9 years ago, you could actually call into to ebay and get a USA based rep that could get this done for you. They would check the metrics on the account and then go ask someone who could pull the trigger and bam, limits were increased. Those days are long gone I would think.
When I went fulltime in 2017, I was bumping the limits every month. It took 3-4 months to get the limit bumped up continually to where I would not hit it and then after that, they would still randomly keep raising it whether I neede it or not. Now it is at $50mil.
I was having to bring the quantites of listings down to one or two to make room for more listings. That also makes room for more $ amount that you can list.
I may have been bumping the number of items limit as well as the $ amount.

christworks
·8 months agoInteresting. That is the link to the Selling Limits page. When you click on it, it should change over to your page and place your limit information at the top.

·8 months ago@christworks
And when I click on it, it just takes me to the policy page, which then directs me to the seller hub, which we've already seen has different sections for different people.
LOL, ebay...
christworks
·8 months agoHumm...maybe you are limitless. 😃
lakefor94
·8 months agoYep, maybe one day, we can be brought into the limitless fold with all the high rollers;)

I suspect that some of us never had a limit to be removed.
I always do things to excess. When I began to list on Ebay, I definitely exceeded any new seller limit in weeks, if not days. Never hit any limit, at any point in my selling on Ebay.
Back in the bad old days, Ebay would never pass up the opportunity to collect a fee on a sale, no matter how many buyers complained about a seller, so a limit on what could be offered would have been anathema.

·8 months agoThanks everyone, but like the picture of the seller hub @stainlessenginecovers showed, mine does not have that section. And the selling page on my android app does not show it either.
But honestly, I'm not concerned. I'm not going to be listing much more than I currently have numbers-wise, so I'm not concerned about going over any limits.

It sounds like you're all running into the issue with the Customize link being removed and that section being hidden with no way to restore it (like me). Fortunately, as noted, you're probably never going to run into your limits, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but I don't know of a solution other than to hit that ? button to report it as a technical issue to eBay.
In the app, I do see this:

·8 months agoDo not see the limits on Seller Hub or My Ebay which also displays as Seller Hub Overview.
Do not see limits on the Android App.
Have over $100k in inventory active at this time.
Maybe if you do not have limits, there are no limits shown.
trip98
·8 months agoI think above is the reason for the inconsistent results. No limit metrics shown for me in all the places suggested where it should be.

·8 months ago@mamacassidy @lakefor94 @toomuchstuffagain35
Ya; not there or anywhere. Hasn't been there for years. No matter- I have over $500,000 listed and haven't been 'stopped' when/if I want to list more.

Seller Hub ---- Overview ---- Lower left corner......
App --- Selling --- at the bottom.....
stainlessenginecovers
·8 months ago@lakefor94 Seller Hub-Overview- nothing anywhere close to that heading; Top, Bottom, Left, Right- sideways...and hasn't been there since Seller Hub started.
ps. I don't have/do the app. Wife does on her phone only and that's how we look at competition, our placement etc all Incognito.

Sounds like you are using "My eBay" rather than "Seller Hub".
Seller Hub looks like this in the upper left corner.

stainlessenginecovers
·8 months ago@lakefor94 Nope:
lakefor94
·8 months agoThey removed the Customize option for what all you see in Seller Hub. I imagine that happened with the late 2025 Seller Hub update.
It used to be in the upper right corner of the Overview.
I have had the selling limits window since the Seller Hub rollout.
My posting ID looks like your account, missing a window with the selling limits.

I don't have mine on seller hub so I just go to the selling limits help page. It displays the information at the top.

·8 months agoYou have 333 items listed currently.
Do you have a Basic Store which allows 1000 listings?
I have seven IDs here, with three actively selling, does knowing that help?
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
BTW- whether you are on the phone with some minimum wage call centre clerk in Utah, or Chatting with an eBay employee on social media, be polite and professional.
They have control, not you.
You can request higher limits every 30 days.

·8 months agoI don't have a Monthly Limit Section either. And don't know where the Seller Hub "customize" button went to see if I could add that section.
A few year ago, I acquired a large estate with many very expensive items. I called ebay (when you could get a US rep and asked what my limits were because they were no where to be found..... They said I didn't have any limits. However, I doubt that is true just never reached them.

·8 months ago@trip98
It is possible for an account to have all limits removed.
About a year or two ago, I got a note from eBay saying that all limits have been removed, and the Monthly Limits section now reads "We removed the selling limit from your account"
mamacassidy
·8 months agoWhere can I find my seller limits?
Ebay says Seller Hub, then scroll down to Monthly Limits, but I do not see a Monthly Limits section.
Am I just overlooking it?
lakefor94
·8 months agoOn my desktop, it is usually down in the lower left corner in Seller Hub.
There is also a possibility that you need to add it to what Seller Hub displays. I "think" that is usually towards the upper left corner of the page. (On my phone app now....)
kensgiftshop
·8 months agoOn mine, it was on the left, but now it's on the right side.

And on the seller hub, I don't have a Monthly Limits section.

·8 months agoI can't find it either.............
jonathanbrightlight
·8 months agoI know we removed it at some point, using the Customize link that used to be on the Seller Hub, and it remains hidden even though the option to customize that is no longer there, so it's unable to be added back for us. I can still see it in the eBay app on my phone, though.
toomuchstuffagain35
·8 months agoWow. So they did take that option away so you're now stuck with whatever you had?
jonathanbrightlight
·8 months agoYeah, it disappeared a while ago (sometime last year), and it didn't undo any customizations in the process, so at the moment it's stuck the way it is. I've submitted feedback a couple times I think, but haven't heard any signs that it's changing.
toomuchstuffagain35
·8 months agoReminds me of when they took away Listing Designer but were still charging for it and sellers had no way to remove it.
toomuchstuffagain35
·8 months agoDo we not have the option to 'customize' the Hub anymore?
toomuchstuffagain35
·8 months agoIt's in the section where it tells you how much $ you in inventory 'sold and listed'.
Under Monthly limits. (which is even more hysterical now I think about it).

·8 months agoTry here
Overview - eBay Seller Hub
and then look for a section like this
On my other account I do not have the section for Monthly Listings so I suppose that means there is no limits.

·8 months agoYou've been on ebay for 18 years, but how long have you been selling? That's what the seller limits are based on.
This ID has a limit of 50 million items and $50 mill in inventory. Not that I'm ever likely to reach those, even should I live to be 100 lol

Just adding on to the mystery of where are the limits shown and why they can't be found
eBay started displaying limits +/- 15 years ago, accounts that existed as active selling accounts did not display limits. New selling accounts did, and if you had an old account and contacted eBay about it they would flip the switch and limits would be displayed. Most of those sellers were shocked to find that their limits were in the millions.
In the Seller Hub my accounts created in 2012 and beyond all show the limits pane, the earlier accounts do not, for those accounts when customizing the hub that pane was not even an option to select.
Your account is from 2002, it will have the "hidden limits", you can contact eBay and ask what they are.
stainlessenginecovers
·8 months ago@slippinjimmy That's a response that makes sense.
I've been selling since 2011 full time, part time before, so...
As I said; I don't really care as so far it hasn't stopped me from listing.
lakefor94
·8 months agoMy seller hub shows the same. I doubt I can get there, lol.
At $215k now.....
toomuchstuffagain35
·8 months agoThe funny thing is though, another ID which has been selling far longer and has many more sales under it's belt only has limits of $5 mill. Go figure. I think after a certain point it's arbitrary and they probably assign them based on a dartboard = )
bonanza125
·8 months agoThere is nothing you can do which you already have done. Your limit is $35,000 so you must start selling and just gradually get increases. Your sales are excellent so in the future you will get an increase. You made a request and I doubt that you will get an increase based on a request to Customer Service. They just want to get you off the phone. Now your beginner level store is just what it is a beginner. That's a benefit for folks who are listing over 50 items a month.
soh.maryl
·8 months agoJust wondering, would the fact that a seller can have more than one selling ID or more than one store be of any help in your situation?
Have lost track of all the rules for sellers, just that thought crossed my mind.
slippinjimmy
·8 months agoYou can start a new selling account BUT you will only get the new seller limits (usually $500 / 10 items) and it will take probably 60 or 90 days before you can request an increase. That new account will also by subject to new seller payment holds.
Years ago you could contact eBay, "link" the accounts and get some sort of increase right away but I don't know if that is still possible.
hotwheelsbum
·8 months agoThis "New" account I just started last July, 6 months ago, 5000 Listings, $50,000 Limit right from the beginning. Day one.
And, never had a Payout held. Not once. Paid every other Tuesday like clockwork. Hell, even one time they paid me for an item that I hadn't even shipped out yet. Think I sold it on Monday. Printed the label on Monday which marked it as shipped. Ebay paid me out Tuesday morning even before I left the house going to the Post Office to ship it out. 😄
