Seller Limit Increase/Chat Support Issue

I'm looking to sell one high ticket item for $60,000 or best offer. My current seller limit is $1,000, my account is in great standing and I have a long casual selling history over 14 years. I reached out to a chat agent last night and they told me I'd get an increase to $65,000 and the change would reflect within two hours. It has since been over 12 hours and the change has not taken effect. Then, even worse, I try to reach out to a chat agent again + the phone line and both just put me through a loop with AI agents that tell me I can't speak to somebody which is just insane, I spoke to somebody 12 hours ago why can't I speak to somebody now? Not to sound insane but it feels like I'm being boxed out by Ebay's support AI. I have a real problem I need to resolve with my account, and now I can't get in touch. Go figure.
Any advice on what to do here? I'm looking to sell a rare trading card and Ebay is really the only platform I feel comfortable selling it on. I don't wish to take my buisness elsewhere but I'm happy to if I can't get the help and quality service I need here.

·1 month agoStart a new thread: "I want to sell a rare trading card on eBay for $60,000." Use that as the title.
Then ask for advice on selling the card on eBay, lots of experienced card sellers here.
You'll get some great insight & advice.

·1 month agoCustomer Service cannot give you a selling increase. CS is known to not give correct information and may even fib to get you off the line and on to hte next call.
Increases are given over time. You will need to consistently list and sell.
eBay will, give increases over time.
Every 90 days you can ask for an increase in Request Higher Limits -
I would be very surprised if you will get a $65000 limit.
You dont have anything listed now, havent sold much in the last year ... eBay does not look at how long you have been on the site since many old dormant are taken over by scammers.
So eBay looks at consistent sales, shipping and happy buyers.
I would never sell an item that expensive here but I wish you luck.

OP1 month agoAlready done that. Low baseline limit to start + won't update me there. Reached out to the initial chat agent because the ammount of pattern selling I'll need to do to get a bump for what this single sale calls for in impractical. The chat agent reviewed my account and said they'd bump me, the bump hasn't happened, and now I'm having a significantly harder time getting in touch with anyone human about this. Trying to make it make sense.

When you requested, was it by clicking "Request higher selling limits" link inside the "Monthly limits" box on the Overview page in Seller Hub?

OP1 month agoIt wasn't AI, just to clarify. I spoke to a real chat agent, and since our convo the faulty AI agents have made it impossible to speak to someone again.

·1 month agoI don't know anything about cards but I'm glad you came here first before being able to list this. One of the best pieces of advice given here over the years is to only list something which you can afford to lose. There have been many instances of scammers who take advantage of "newer" sellers. Other people will be able to articulate this better than I do, but I would advise you to reconsider selling such a valuable card here. There is little protection for sellers.

OP1 month agoI believe there are effective guardrails in place for TCG seller protection, no? Due to the authenticity guarantees. EBay's Authenticity Guarantee sends trading card sales through a third-party inspector (currently PSA) before the item ever reaches the buyer, then they verify it matches the listing and isn't fake. As the seller, once your item is delivered to eBay's authentication center, eBay takes on responsibility for it from that point forward, including the leg to the buyer. If it's lost or disputed after that point, eBay covers it the seller isn't on the hook. Or atleast that's what I've gathered in my research here.

Nope; buyer has 3 days to open a Not As Described; whether it went through 'authentication' or not.
