seller level artificially lowered by horrible shipping
My seller levels are dropping to "below standard" because many of my ebay standard envelopes have been lost because the lack of decent tracking. What you should be basing my seller level is how quickly I get the card in the mail & it gets scanned by the post office. After that it's literally out of my hands and it's killing my "Seller Level"
Have anyone had any luck getting these removed?

·2 years agoI have used ESE's at least 20 times. I have put them in my mail box for the mailman to pick up, put them the blue drop boxes along the street, given them to the post office clerk along with my other packages and put them in the out of town mail slot in the post office. I have not had any problems with them, maybe I'm just getting lucky.

·2 years agoI have used them approximately 30,000 times now, as one of my accounts is all standard envelope and has 27K items sold, I ship some things standard on this account and I used to manage a large standard envelope account for someone else.
My problems started rounding down to zero once I perfected my packing.

·2 years agoStandard envelope orders don't count against late shipment rate, they are removed from the report. Tracking uploaded on time can't make you go below standard.
The only thing that can make a standard envelope seller go below standard is Transactions cancelled for being out of stock and cases closed without seller resolution.
If you are having a bunch of problems then you are overpacking the envelopes. Search for a youtube video on best way to ship standard envelope and watch the one that does it without top loaders, that is the way to do it.

·2 years agoeBay Standard Envelopes get tracked automatically as they go through the sorting machines, so if yours are not getting "decent tracking" it is because they are not going through the sorting machines successfully. Sellers need to take responsibility for this, because they are doing the packaging.
This is usually because they are too stiff. Most top loaders are too stiff to use in these envelopes. Penny sleeves are more likely to be acceptable. If the envelope gets kicked out because it isn't compatible with the machines, then it has to be processed manually, and won't get scanned.
If your eSE envelopes are being kicked out of the machinable mail stream, then they won't get tracking. If you have to use packaging that is too stiff to be machinable, then you should not use eSE.

·2 years agoAnd the worst part of it is that Ebay loves to make you a Below Standard Seller because hidden in their
final value fees that Ebay collects is a penalty fee of 6% for being Below Standard. I had to dig to find it but it's there if you make an extra click on final fee page. So now an computer alogorism has decided that I am below standard (because I got scammed with no help from Ebay, BTW) and is punishing me with an extra "punishment tax". I wonder how many sellers know this exists? And how many sellers have been sent Below Standard hell by HAL.

If I as a seller clearly shipped the card by when I was supposed to -and then it is scanned in a sorting facility on the way to the customer- WHY is that a ding on ME specifically?
I understand not getting 'points' or 'credits' or whatever but why is that lowering my sales stats.
It should be neutral!

·2 years agoSame thing happened to me I got lowered to below standard and literally the next day which was the 21st a day after the evaluation it said if I was to be evaluated I would be above standard so clearly there was a mistake in the system I was basically told I was **bleep** out of luck why is eBay customer service so trash it's like none of them know what they're doing you can never get the same answer from a person everybody's got a different take literally the worst customer service

EBay standard envelope is USPS metered mail. This gets a processed at the sorting facilities.
I personally have never used it. I like to have real tracking.
I have heard suggestions that you should make sure you put it in the Metered Mail slot at the USPS.

That's what I suggest to everybody who is having issues with the original ESE "scan," which can NOT be supplied at local post offices, but ONLY at the USPS Distribution Centers, which are generally located in other cities, and sometimes other counties.
That initial "scan" may be delayed (or never provided at all) if the ESEs are handed to the USPS counter clerk, or a USPS delivery driver. Similarly, don't drop the ESEs in a USPS "blue box," or a residential mailbox, or an office mail system, as all these methods also are no guarantee that the initial USPS "scan" will be received.
I've been dropping my ESEs directly into the "Metered Mail" slot in my post office lobby for the last 2 years, and each and every time they've received the initial USPS "scan," with NO problems, NO returns -- and, most important, NO complaints from buyers.
