Seller fees are rediculous
E bay sure gets deep into your pockets when you sell, makes it hard to make any type of profit. I don't understand how they justify taking so much from your final value after you already pay an insertion fee. On top want to charge for shipping print offs, to move your money to your bank......

All sales have fees.
Im never charged for printing off shipping or for money to go to the bank.
Thanks for posting!
If anyone reads your responses to FB left for you as a seller, they might think twice about buying from you.
You should read about selling and fees before listing.

·1 year agoI don't know how they justify it either. In fact I went so far as to research what you actually get for the money you pay and it will make you cry in spilled milk. They had they audacity to claim that the money you pay gets you these things:
1. Millions of users use the site to potentially see my items.
2. They collect the sales tax for me and deal with the government in that aspect so I don't have to. They're probably required to do this, but still.
3. They developed an app (for what it is) so that people can buy my items after seeing some flashy light or advertisement or (crazy as it may seem) genuine interest and they need to have instant gratification and buy on the fly.
4. I don't have to see customers in person. Huge in 2025.
5. I can buy without fear as refunds are 99.9% guaranteed. It's a double edged sword if your dishonest, but occasionally the honest get cut. It's a cost of doing business and is way better than......
6. Brick and mortar where my items grow legs and walk out the door at a significantly higher rate than bad returns come in from eBay.
7. My eBay store rent is $21.95 per month plus fees from selling. Check out renting a small store in a plaza near you then reference items 1-6.
It's a bit tongue in cheek here, but I think the value is clear. I'm also doing this as a business. I can imagine the casual seller might not have the same perspective if they are only selling a few items a year and seeing a total of ~30% off the gross sale. (after fees, cost of goods, supplies, shipping, tax deductions etc...).

·1 year agoThere are thousands of these threads on these boards, and you'll get the same answers as every previous poster. You knew or could have known the fees before you ever listed anything, they're not unreasonable or unfair, they're similar to or better than other sites (which generally have far less exposure for your items), and you cannot change them.
eBay does not charge you to print shipping labels, however, so I have no idea what you're talking about there. And you are not charged for sending money to your bank unless you sign up for the Express Payouts.
