Seller did not approve payment and eBay accepted payment
Months ago I posted a book for sale. April 6 I got an email saying it was purchased and funds on hold in my account. I did not approve payment and was never asked to approve payment. Person is from Canada and paid in Canadian dollars. I posted in usd dollars. There are 2 different people showing as buyers. Seems to be a scam. Anyhow. I don’t have book and I don’t want their money and I am not paying fees because I never approved payment. It shows 2 different buyers. I think it is a scam. Just want eBay to return their Canadian funds. Can’t find how to report this to eBay

·2 years agoHi @mon.susa . You posted a book for sale on the eBay.ca site, not the eBay.com site. That's why the transaction was in CAD. I'm guessing you may have used "sell one like this" from another seller's listing and that seller was on the .ca site - that's the most likely scenario when something like this happens.

If you do not want to or cannot complete the sale, you need to log in to eBay.ca and cancel the transaction as out of stock. This page has instructions:
https://www.ebay.ca/help/selling/getting-paid/sellers-can-cancel-order?id=4136
There's no need to contact customer service.
For reference: sellers are not required to approve payment. You post an item for sale, someone buys it and pays, you ship. That's basically how it works.
If you list anything in the future I suggest making sure you're on the .com site before publishing the listing.
