Search Results, Why would a buyer even bother?
FIVE of my searches yesterday returned a top result that had nothing to do with what I was searching for.
Filters didn't help. Mostly made it worse.
Just getting absurd.

·2 years agoI understand what you mean. At an estate sale yesterday I was looking up a piece of vintage yard decoration. I couldn't find one listed on ebay. The lady behind me asked if I was purchasing the item. When I replied yes, she told me I was so lucky to have found it before she did because the one on eBay sold for $99 plus shipping. I told her I couldn't find it on eBay. She showed me her search using the exact same words as I used and sure enough there it was on her phone.
It's not only about whether a person sells a whole whopping 5 items or 1 item or a lifetime number of items.
And we aren't talking about something with thousands or even hundreds of the same item.
It's about why 2 women who are standing next to each other, unrelated in any other way, get different search results when using the EXACT same search words and her return is 1 SOLD listing and my return is 0.
As the lady and I were puzzling over this, she told me that is why she doesn't buy on eBay anymore, because eBay hides listings and plays shady games.
I understand that feeling after this experience. It just made me feel like the search engine was not working, although I'm sure there will be people who have some sort of explanation how this is exactly how the engine is supposed to work.

·2 years agoAs said.........millions of sales, so not all bad......
But there are some legit reasons to criticize some searches due to ebay "category navigation" choices.....
If you post the search terms and the items you can't find, we can check and see if that's what is at fault........

·2 years agoAnd yet you have sold at least 275 items which, presumably, your buyers found through the Search function.

·2 years agoAmazing isn't it?
Despite the broken search engine, buyers are still finding and buying stuff.
I sold 5 items yesterday.
