Scrubbed negative. Did the bots detect the cancellation request or extortion?
I had a buyer who filed a cancellation request that I didn't respond to yet at the time. It seems they already left a negative that got scrubbed. I also see a message the buyer sent me.
"Please cancel this order it was a mistake" and shortly after that "Good morning I send you a message right away that I made the order and realized that that was not the Tshirt my son wanted. And now I recieved a email that it couldn't be cancelled ,why??? What was the reason? I will put a bad feed in your page if the purchase won't be cancelled."
All this happened on the same day. The cancellation request file, those two messages, and the negative (and the scrub too I guess). Policy says I'll be feedback protected when I accept or decline the cancellation. Don't they remove the feedback after I respond to the cancellation tho? Because at that time I didn't yet. Or did the bots catch the obvious extortion in messages?

Had the buyer paid already when they requested to cancel?
Did you ever respond to the request to cancel?
If the buyer paid, had you printed a label?
I am asking this because recently I noticed in the "cancellation" information on eBay, that if the seller doesn't respond to a cancellation request within three days, eBay may cancel it for the buyer anyway. It also says that feedback can be left for a cancelled transaction unless the buyer is hit with the UPI Cancellation.
The following also seems to be updated to reflect a longer period allowed for a buyer to request a cancellation. For example, it used to be only 60 minutes. Now it appears to be many days, or until an item is shipped.

In other places, it states (or used to ) that negative feedback left because a seller refused the cancellation can be removed.

·1 year agoOh, I was under the impression that a buyer had to wait 7 days to leave negative feedback.
Did I imagine that? Or am I confusing this with one of the other platforms?

OP1 year agoYea I thought so too huh.
*shrugs*, any ebay gods care to answer this? That account is TRS and everything. Honestly I never pay attention to the grace period on my negs.

·1 year agoDid you ever see the negative feedback that was removed, or do you not know what was in the contents of it? I'm wondering if something in the negative feedback caused the automatic removal, rather than the extortion attempt, but either way, that's good to know about! And yes, I think automatic feedback removal related to a buyer-initiated cancellation request would come after you accepted the cancellation, but I can't be 100% sure of that as I haven't run into that situation yet.

OP1 year agoUnfortunately I don't know what comment and verbiage the buyer used on that negative. I just know I received one because in my sold page I see the red icon that shows the buyer left me a negative. At first I was confused because I clicked onto my feedback page to see no negative received and then I realized what happened.
And like you, I am curious to see what comment they left. Who knows, maybe they left profanity and contact info causing more violations to be triggered.
