Scam? Sold Item listed on another site and sold to someone else
I sold an item Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger Driver's Seat and shipped it to the buyer on 1-22-25. I received this message from another ebay member. "This item is now showing up on sights all around the internet. I have received an ebay confirming the purchase and payment for this item but have not heard from the seller. A second item purchased from this seller at the same date and time appears to be processing normally. Something seems to be very wrong. My bank account shows this item has been paid. Please advise."
Is this a scam? If so, how can it be stopped?
Thank you for your input.

OP1 year agoI tracked down the original purchaser. The problem was that I combined the two items in one box and shipped yesterday 1-22-25. The "buyer" tried to buy this item using three different ebay accounts with zero feedbacks. He was confused about the second item which was listed as not shipped. Today I was calculating a refund for the shipping and did not send it quick enough to stop the problem. Just when you've seen it all on ebay selling, something new happens.
Thanks in advance for anyone who replies to this topic.

·1 year agoI'm still not 100% sure I understand, but assuming I have it right now, you should be sure to copy/paste the tracking number to the item that was combined with the one that you used for the shipping label, or eBay will 'think' you never shipped it, and the buyer could do a scam INR on you.

·1 year agoThe solution is very simple. When I receive an order for more than 2 items from a buyer and I combine the items to ship in one box I immediately update the tracking to show both items have shipped. Right after I do this a send a partial shipping refund with a note letting them know items have been shipped in one box.
You should never wait. Take care of business before they become problems.

·1 year agoThis whole mess gave me a headache!
Are you absolutely positive that the 3 different IDs your buyer used to buy your items are actually the same person?
If you sold items to more than one ID even if they're the same person, you shouldn't be combining shipping.

OP1 year agoI meant to close this topic with this reply. Somehow I made a mistake. I meant to say this.

Just when you've seen it all on eBay selling, something new happens.

·1 year agoIf they bought it from another site and another seller, I don't see how they think it's somehow YOUR problem?

·1 year agoYour post is confusing.
You said you "sold an item Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger Driver's Seat and shipped it to the buyer on 1-22-25"
Then you said, "I have received an ebay confirming the purchase and payment for this item but have not heard from the seller." Do you mean you haven't heard from the BUYER?
Why would you hear from the buyer? It just sold on January 21 so it's unlikely that they received it yet.
You said, "A second item purchased from this seller at the same date and time appears to be processing normally." Again, do you mean "purchased BY this BUYER?
If some random person is contacting you, I wouldn't even respond.
If you shipped to the address on the order, you should be fine. (BTW, I hope you realize your shipping charge is WAY less than it costs!)

·1 year agoPossibly.... Those seats are pretty small, and they fold down flat.
I thought the seats themselves were just priced too cheap.
But it's been awhile since I've looked at prices for those.

·1 year agoIt's not your problem. You sold something and it's on it's way to the buyer. No cause for concern.
BTW: Those things Part Out awesome!!!
