Sales Tax as a Reseller
Hey guys,
Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. As a reseller on eBay, can you legally avoid paying sales tax on the items I sell since eBay remits the sales taxes on our behalf?

·2 years agoYou can avoid paying sales tax on items you BUY if you plan to resell them.
You do not pay sales tax on items that you sell.

Obtain a State Tax ID for your resale business. That will allow you to issue it to companies outside eBay (that accept it from your state) as well as registering with eBay as @wastingtime101 lays out in their post.

The above link should help with either filing your tax exempt forms with eBay, or filing with your state for a credit.

·2 years agofill out the appropriate paper work, submit it and you can be exempt from paying sales tax for the items that you purchase to resell.
