Sales hit a brick wall!?
It's like ebay has blocked me from being seen by buyers. Something is definatly wrong, is it the BBE thing? I have a 99.8 % rating what is going on, has anyone else experienced this?

·5 months agoMore importantly. Why in the world are you making listings and shipping cards out at a dead loss.
Every time you sell one of those 99 cent with 25 cent shipping cards you lose 1-10 cents (depending on your cost of shipping supplies / card supplies).
Even $2 cards cannot be photographed, listed, filed, pulled and shipped fast enough to make minimum wage.
Time yourself, see how long it takes you to list 10 cards start to finish and see how long it takes you to ship 10 cards start to finish. Then realize your maximum return on that time spent is about $8 after fees and supplies and that is only if all 10 cards sell. Most low end cards never sell, they just sit for years.

·5 months agoI hope this war ends soon or I fear what it might do to the economy on many fronts. Uncertainty is not good for most in business regardless of their size since some things do trickle down, so time will tell.

·5 months agoYour Feedback Rating of 99.8% is rather meaningless. eBay does not evaluate your performance by FB - they used to years ago.
But cancelling a sold item order can lead to big seller problems - like no more eBayselling privileges.

·5 months agoYour items are being seen, No one is blocking you, It's just a sign of the times we are in rising prices & way to much uncertainty, People are more frugal than ever, Just keep listing something is bound to click.

·5 months agoMy sales are off and my low priced items are selling far less while my higher priced items are close to normal.
Some people may be hurting and are buying less.

Ebay is blocking buyers from seeing your listings.
That way you lose money and ebay also loses money.

·5 months agoNothing is wrong it comes down to price and demand. Either your prices are too high for buyers or the items you are selling buyers are not interested in right now. If you did your research already and prices are equal to similar listed then check to see if the particular item is being sold. If more is listed than sold then the demand is low for that item. Some items could take years to sell.

You have 382 active listing and have sold 352items in the last 90 days. That’s a terrific sell thru rate many sellers would die for.
Gas in my area went from $2.59 to $3.39 before I left. I’m currently in Chicago and gas at most stations is $3.99 or higher.
I think the higher gas prices has a lot to do with it.

Sales fluctuate. eBay isn't hiding you from anybody. That does not mean your listing(s) come up every single time a buyer searches and you have an item that matches. eBay's Terms of Service state this. The algorithm tends to act like a big spotlight and shines in one place when a buyer searches ABC, then next time shines in another place when a buyer searches ABC.
The more volume you have in your store, the greater chance the spotlight hits you more often. Once I reached over 1,000 items, two or three sales are normal for me every day. Sometimes it is more, sometimes there may be none. When the war started, I had three sales in five days. Once nerves settled, sales picked right back up, and YoY I'm doing better.
Whatever situation you are in, do everything you can to ensure that when the big spotlight shines, you are able to entice buyers to buy.

·5 months agoIt's been cheapo buyers for me.
We both have 3 different 'sales' going...getting potential buyers which can become repeat buyers is what we want.
I promoted only my high end items where eBay makes a better profit if they sell.
For me, doing these 'sales' as which eBay makes less than normally without an item on sale or promoted.
So thus...I notice we can also promote our 'sales'...which is crazy...buyers are already getting a discount.
I don't mind the low payout...but the work of shipping it bothers me for I do that in my free time which I rather be doing something else.
Why buyers purchase two items vs. three items with a nice discount I don't understand.
And I do get those repeat buyers who purchase one item every 4 days...that drives me nuts.
One thing I hope you are no doing is cancel a sale...which is the same as an 'out of stock' item.
And refunding a buyer where buyer should open a claim of item not received to be safe and get a refund.
Giving a buyer a refund without an open claim means 'out of stock'...which I learned happened to me only once and never more.
'Out of stock' can be the 'kiss of death' of an account.

OP5 months agoI think that is exactly what it is. How do I pull out of it, yikes, besides avoiding 'out of stock' at all costs? The more I think about it the more that makes sense. Thank You for responding with relevant and correct information, I appreciate it greatly.

·5 months agoIf you can't find the item or there is a situation where item is not available...I offer something else in my listings to the buyer.
A buyer wants something. And I know some sellers here hate this approach.
But I sell items in the same category so it does works.
And best to sell a lot to get one's ratings up...cheapo items if necessary
Do I need to make a big profit on each item I sell...not really...I'll take a nice feedback in it's place.
And I bought a lot of cheapo items lately...doing a project...and got a nice return of feedbacks for buying cheapo items.

·5 months agoYou should, in fact, avoid "Out Of Stock" at all costs. That can lead to increased fees or the loss of selling privileges if you are continuing to have those at a significant rate.

·5 months agoI used to fret over gas prices until my dad took me to where he was born in Alberta out on the prarie. While talking and driving on a rural gravel road he told me it used to take him my grandpa and my uncles two days in a buckboard with my uncles as outriders to get where we just drove in minutes. Setting up camp and hobbling the horses etc.
Then two days to get back. Gas is over $4 a gallon here (greedy state government) and to me it's still a bargain. I once got stranded and walked 20 miles to get back to town, same scenario. Set up camp and start again in the morning. Looking back I'd have gladly paid $30 a gallon to not walk for two days in the Mojave desert.
Not trying to slight you or anyone else but we are da**ed lucky to have modern travel...............

·5 months agoNot when electricity bills are through the roof. Not when you have to take a personal loan to go grocery shopping. Not to mention price of rent/mortgage, car insurance and now gas.
And on friday the core inflation rate reported for january was 3.1%, before the Iran war raised gas prices.
The war will obviously cause inflation to spike in starting in March

·5 months agoMy electricity bill went up a little, not alot (put in a heat pump for heat-air years ago).
Grocery shopping offset by buying on sale and stocking our freezer (T-bones tonight at $9.99 lb. & greenbeans from garden).
Rent-mortgage, paid off mortgage early when money was easier.
Car insurance, no tickets, no sports cars...not bad.
Gas prices are always high in my state of never ending social programs for junkies and whatnot.
Frugal when the economy is robust and reaping the benefits later..................

·5 months agoRandom statistical variance. It happens to literally every business, big and small.
It would be far stranger if your sales were exactly the same, day after day, wouldn't it?
I use the slow spells to double check my prices and listings, to see if any keywords are missing, or if my prices are way off.
