Sales
The last two years sales have plummeted to extremely bad. The best year on eBay was 2021 after that year it has never recovered. The Top Guns at eBay are running the company into the ground and should be fired! I will need another marketplace start getting real sales again. I would love to hear your opinion on this subject.

Just about any news outlet, choose your logo.
It has been noticed that inflation has increased overall prices by 20%, interest rates have soared, and repos and foreclosures are up. Businesses are closing at an alarming rate. It's been in all the papers.

·2 years agoIt's not just Ebay, people don't have the extra money to spend on things they don't need.
I'm replacing my roof and the wood I need just tripled in price.

·2 years agoMy sales have been steady. No major drops in the last 2 years. Always looking to buy new unusual items in my category to keep the customers buying.

·2 years agoYou are completely correct. I joined in 2001 & up until fall of 2021, there were highs & lows. Yet, I still managed to get 15-20 sales a week, on average. I could earn between $400-1200 per week with random slow weeks. Suddenly, it dropped to less than 10 sales per month on a regular basis. This carried on for 2 years before I decided I will not consider eBay a serious outlet for earning income. I removed all of my listings & closed my store. Now I just try a few items, here & there. Just hope for a few extra dollars coming in through eBay. I rely on local sales with Marketplace. I may try posting more just to see if I can turn things around. I NEED to sell online. I NEED to use as many resources as I can. I have 4 sites where I pay zero fees. Where would I prefer to make those sales? 🙂 Good luck!

·2 years agoThe first reality of eBay is that they charge Amazon-level fees for Craigslist-level service. They've gotten this way because they are a corporation that needs to continually show higher profits, but their market has been flat for years ... so they burden the sellers with higher and higher fees ... this will only get more painful.
The second reality of eBay is that you will not find another marketplace for used/damaged/old-stock merchandise that reaches more customers than eBay (though some narrow niches may exist). If a seller is struggling with sales, the first place they need to look at is themselves and not eBay:

·2 years agoYou are selling items that are pretty competitive as you most likely know. I would suggest tweaking your listings a bit more so you can stand out from the other sellers listings. Your photos could be cleaner and by possibly using a background remover, you can make them look sharper. Your descriptions on many lack any details or information that may encourage some to buy yours vs. other similar listings. This is subjective of course and tweaking 1000+ listing can be daunting, so maybe start with your new listings and tweak a few older listings when you list a new one. Also it sounds like you are not selling on any other platforms. If not, you should consider cross listing to get more eyes on your items. Sales are sketchy for many so your complaint is not new to these boards.
