RU Sites swiping Ebay listing Information.
I did a search on the discussions here and saw that it was brought up before but no one commented (that was some time ago, and I didn't think I could resurrect the thread). Did I miss a recent one?
I was doing some research on a product and encountered a Russian (or at least someone that registered a .ru domain) with my pictures, my listing information and offering of half price.
I am going to research the registrar and hosting company to see if I can report.
Edited to say: It's not just my listings
I assume this is phishing attempt. Do you agree?

·10 months agoYep. Happening to my listings to. I reported to Google to remove images from search and sendle.ru had the audacity to send me a counter notice stating they had "permission" to use my listings. How do we report this to eBay?

·10 months agoThere's nothing to report to eBay. They aren't involved. There's nothing you can or should do, really.

·1 year ago@spendingcents26150 unfortunately these kind of scam sites that scrape eBay listings have been around for many years, often registered in China, Russia or other places which make any kind of legal action against them very difficult.

Typically they are simply a trap set to steal credit card and other personal information, with the stolen financial and ID data then used for all manner of fraudulent purposes.
You can use this site to look up the website registration information but honestly, I've very rarely seen reports lead to action being taken - and even when they are, it's a game of whack a mole where for every site that gets taken down, 3 more take its place.

OP1 year agoYes, thank you I am aware of the whois database (web developer / programmer in my other life). It is likely the phisher is behind a privacy registration but I will trace the IP to report to hosting (hopefully one of the hosting companies I currently have a working relationship with}
I was wondering really about the prevalence of the scraping. I was aware of it to some degree from other clientele but scraping wouldn't always be of the phishing sort. There are measures to thwart scrapers, I guess I am little "unsettled" that it is a fact of life of Ebay.
Also, unsettling when it happens to be my data.
