ROBBED AGAIN
So Ebay blames me citing "unusual selling activity" (I've increased my sales from 5 sales a week to about 😎 and will now hold payments 3 days after receipt by buyer (average of 12 days not counting handling time). My account is PERFECT...no delays..no unreceived packages...nothing. I spoke with three representatives today, each one giving me a completely different version of why this is but there is nothing anyone can do about it...least of all me. The one thing they were all clear about though is that it will NEVER revert back to a 2 day payout, regardless what the letter says.
I honestly feel sorry for the folks working for Ebay. I feel sorry that they have to talk to me , to read their scripts, to dutifully apologize for something that they know nothing about.
I still have hand signed Christmas cards sent to me from the founder of Ebay, Pierre Omidyar. That was over 30 years ago. I sometimes wonder if he has nostalgia about a company he cared so much about and the respect that it once had.
We've detected unusual selling activity on your account. To maintain marketplace safety, funds earned from your sales will be available for payout within 3 days after delivery confirmation of the item. After we’ve seen ongoing confirmation of successful deliveries, you’ll start receiving your funds again 2 days after the buyer pays. |

·8 months agoChristmas cards from the founder, who would not spend a nickle policing his website and earned the bad reputation every later CEO has had to fight might explain why you do not see the obvious need to deploy trust and safety procedures when certain volumes and sale amounts are been exceeded.
Ebay limits its risks so that it can limit the buyer's risks. Something Pierre refused to do.

·8 months ago... i'm still waiting for the part where you were robbed.
I looked over your sold items.
You've been enjoying some pretty nice sales. Congrats!
Perhaps you should be thanking ebay rather than accusing them of robbing you.

·8 months agoEven with a hold of "x" number of days, you are clearly enjoying multiple big-ticket sales per day, and so (if you have chosen daily payouts) you will still be getting income per day; it's just that it will be from sales a day or so older than you were used to. I seriously doubt you will notice the difference, as your payout rate will be the same as always.

·8 months agoThere's a big difference from being robbed and being paid a few days later.

·8 months agoThis isn't being 'robbed'. It's being hit with the same restriction that THOUSANDS of other sellers face. If you view the Payments forum you'll see several of them posted today alone.
In a few weeks the hold will be removed and things will go back to normal. In the meantime, just deal with it like everyone else.
Or you can try selling on Amazon instead and let us know how their payment holds compare 😉

·8 months agoI wouldn't call it robbed' unless you haven't been paid for months.
You've sold 5 things that I can see, exceeding $1000, compared to the prior 60 days so this seems typical.
They state 'safety' but we know the real reason (CYA on their end).
Assuming you make a profit and hold 'tax $$' from each sale- maybe 'borrow' from that $$ and pay yourself on a 'weekly?' or so basis, with the 'held' funds just going back to that 'tax savings account' when you are paid.
