risky buyer
I wonder if there is a way that we could share all this kind of buyers... 😓
Wait, how should I add creenshots here? A notice show up saying I don't have the permission to upload images.
Story starts. A buyer ordered 30 filters, open return request, saying the box arrived damaged and a bunch of filters were missing, refused to provide any photos of damaged box and how many filters are there. He don't even want a resending of missing filters and insisted on return for full refund.
I said I need the number of filters you are going to return so I can create the return label (Sorry about lying), he said "8 filters". Label sent and uploaded to request.
Buyer never reply since then nor ship back the filters according to the tracking. Today the return request reach the last day and eBay closed it with the reason ''we have no record that they shipped the item back to you''.
So I just went through his account the first time, noticed he is also a seller with 95.8% positive, and also left a lot of negs as a buyer.
For any possibility that he leave a neg on his order, do I have a chance to have it removed?

·9 months agoWe can't, it's actually against the law and I don't recall the specifics but it is the reason why they don't exist or are not easily available. It is also why we can't name and shame, I believe it may be the Fair Credit Reporting Act that's behind it but I'm not sure, I just know the law protects buyers from being listed in a "bad" buyer database of any kind.

·9 months agoIf this buyer was to leave you Negative Feedback (I'd say the odd are slim) it is removable under the policy highlighted below:
A Not As Described return is a Money Back Guarantee case, your obligations were to accept the return and provide a return label. You have done that so any neg should be covered by the eBay policy for removal.

OP9 months agoThank you!! That make sence that the auto removal just approved my appeal, the feedback is gone now.

·9 months agoJust to clarify. The auto removal process is NOT the same thing as the "appeal" process. That is completely different and can't be done through the auto process.

"For any possibility that he leave a neg on his order, do I have a chance to have it removed?"
There is no way to accurately answer that question until they actually leave feedback. But if they do leave a negative feedback for you. I encourage you to come back here, or start a new thread, and let us know. We can then help guide you.

OP9 months agoThank you!!! I just tried the auto removal by clicking the reason [Related to a case that was resolved in my favor], and feedback was removed after 20 mins of clicking!
The reason eBay gave is:
After reviewing the details, we found that the buyer didn't return the item after their return was accepted.
As a result, we're removing this feedback for you, including the ratings.

·9 months agoI'm very glad that worked out for you. And what they told you is absolutely correct. But please know it isn't always this easy to get a feedback removed.
Also you mention this buyer/seller often leaves negative feedback for things they buy. It is likely they are abusing the system. I would encourage you to report that too. It is easy to do and I'll give you a link below so you can report them as a Buyer. Review their feedback left for others and see if you can see a pattern and also explain what happened to you. The opening of the claim and then not returning the items along with the feedback you got removed. I sincerely hope you will take a few moments to do this.

·9 months agoThank you. It really helps Ebay to collect this information on those members that are misbehaving.

OP9 months agoLatest update - The return closed on Oct. 31, buyer left the negative today: Short changed my order. Never refunded me after return
Just sent a feedback removal request to eBay customer service, waiting on reply.

OP10 months agoThank you guys!
Until today, no messages or feedback was received from this buyer.
I do have 30 days free return for all the listings. And, figured out I've got 3 orders from this buyer, with 3 totally different addresses, must be dropshipping.
One was canceled by the buyer with reason of ordered mistakenly; the other is the one I posted here; and the last one, delivered Sept. 12, return request opened today with the reason no longer needed. I simply refused this return.
I've blocked this buyer and am letting it go.

I wouldn't worry about it but if they did leave negative there would be say a 50/50 chance. If you had a return policy of 30 days w/seller pays for shipping I would say you have a chance upon appeal. If you had "no returns" or something else you would have a smaller chance. It really comes down to what they said. Missing filters from box due to carrier damage could get removed however not guaranteed to get removed. That's a carrier issue not you. If buyer was serious about wanting a refund they should have taken photos of what the damage looks like and returned what they had.

@bonanza125
Why is that? The OP already sent the return label. The buyer did not return the product.

Doesn't matter. If a buyer leaves a negative there are no guarantees that Ebay will remove the negative based on the the OP reasoning and potential "no return policy." However there is a 50/50 chance. No negative was place so they shouldn't worry about it as of right now.

·9 months agoFree returns no longer buys off neg feedback - it falls under the same umbrella as everything else - only if the buyer leaves a feedback counter to what is allowed in buyer feedback rules, and then the site will only require them to revise it.

OP9 months agoI figured out the free return still works.🤔 I've got some return request with neg feedback after the new policy of feedback removal. After the return is completed and refunded, I just go to the auto remove page, click on the reason [Related to a case that was resolved in my favor], 90% of them will be removed properly. Not sure if this is a bug though.
mam98031
·9 months agoAll sellers have to pay for return shipping if the buyer files an INAD. Even sellers with a no return policy.
It is unlikely that the auto feedback removal process results in 90% of the reported feedback of getting removed. Especially in like of the changes made in the process last month. But you have us here to help when you run into one that may be more problematic for you.

·10 months agoAs far as the return. He has lost the opportunity to do a ebay return but can still do a chargeback with his credit card.
As far as getting negative feedback removed, it depends what the feedback says. I wouldn't worry about it until it happens.
For now I wouldn't do anything. I especially wouldn't message or communicate with the buyer. That will just make things worse.
Just a hunch, I believe this will go away without any further action.
Don't forget to block this buyer.
