Returns to Wholefoods or Staples

I bought an item from this seller (noachma87) and it came from amazon, which it was cheaper. I asked to return, and they sent me a QR code to go to wholefoods or staples.
The seller argued with me that this was his return protocol and that his logistics company only works with in person returns. I said that I need a return shipping label and they refused. Ebay eventually award me the return.
Is this something that is now normal here? does ebay now allowing people to just dropship their products from Amazon.

OP3 weeks agoI called eBay support and at first they said the QR code was good and take it to FedEx. But I had them scan it and it went to an Amazon return url. They did reach out to force the seller to take a return and they refunded.
I think the seller scrubbed my comment as well or had it pulled.
It's a bit crazy that this seller has so many positive reviews and sales when all they are doing is shipping from Amazon or another retailer. Which is not allowed. In this case looks like ebay doesn't care.

You bought it from the seller, you return it to the seller.
Initiate a "not as described" return through ebay.
If the seller does not accept the return, ebay will end up finding in your favor, refunding your money and not requiring you to return the item.

Had you returned the Amazon item to Staples or Whole Foods, the seller would have received credit for the return but it's unlikely he would have issued a refund to you. And since he did disallowed dropshipping from his own Prime account, ebay wouldn't have any evidence of YOU returning the item and you wouldn't have been able to get a refund.
Report the seller for dropshipping and using his Amazon Prime account.
EDIT: As further proof of the disallowed dropshipping, the seller's Israel location is a giveaway.

·3 weeks agoYou were correct in requiring the seller to provide a label for the return. No, it is not allowed, and eBay rewarded you. But it happens. Think of it like speeding on the highway, it is not allowed, but people do it...and sometimes they get caught and sometimes they dont. The QR is how Amazon handle returns, but that doesn't change ebay's policy in requiring a return label
