returns on damaged goods
Summary: relativechaosco is seeking advice on how to handle a situation where a buyer claims a card was damaged during shipping and is requesting a refund. Despite evidence suggesting the damage was caused by the buyer, relativechaosco feels eBay tends to side with buyers in such disputes. They mention the buyer left a negative review and ask for guidance on denying the refund.
Sent a buyer a card in the mail in a hard plastic mailer. The buyer says the card came damaged. but in all my pictures the card was not damaged. he asked for a refund back when the card was damaged during shipping. He even went out of his way to write me a bad review saying " I sell bent cards" I asked him to send it back to me. The buyer did so but you can totally see where he put his finger print in the card and thats how it got bent. Is there a way to not give him his money back? it seems like ebay always favors the buyer vs the seller.
thanks

·2 weeks agoSadly this or something similar to this has happened to most sellers that sell on the internet anywhere. Not much you can do about it. Just process the refund and hopefully you can still resell the card. Do not delay processing the refund or the Buyer can ask Ebay to step in and that will not end well for you.
Ebay would force you to refund the item and would NOT refund you any of your selling fees plus you get a ding in your stats for not resolving a return request. Neither of which you want to happen.
