Returning selling after years away... What do I need to do in order to get paid?
I used eBay a lot (to both buy and sell) in the 2000s and 2010s but since awhile before the pandemic I just got busy with other things. Now I'm returning to eBay after years away. I already bought a few things successfully, but now I want to sell some stuff.
Question:
Before the pandemic I got an email from eBay telling me that I'd have to update something if I still wanted to sell things and get paid. I forgot what that email said, and that email is long gone now so I need help. What do I, as a private party occasional seller, need to do in order to make sure that any payments for things that I have sold get properly routed to my PayPal account? I *did* look over my account settings to try to see where I could set where my incoming payments go, but all I found was a way to set up how eBay gets its cut.
Any help appreciated.

·1 year agoYou need a bank routing number tied to a debit card which would work perfectly.
Just ask your bank for the routing number of your debit card.
Not sure of your age...but US Bank offers free banking with no minimum balance in checking with a debit card for those 65 or older.
And need to give eBay your social security number.

·1 year agoNo worries, there won't be anything left to get sent to your bank after you figure out that you need to pay for promoted listings to even have your items seen by potential buyers. eBay will get most of the cut and the rest will go to shipping labels.

·1 year agoSellers no longer get paid thru PP. Managed Payments, thru Adyen is the processor now, you need to provide your ss# and checking account to receive your funds.
To provide your checking account information to eBay for selling purposes, log into your eBay account, navigate to the "My eBay" section, then go to the "Payments" tab where you can add or update your bank account details, including your checking account number, routing number, and bank name; most likely, you will need to verify your account with a small deposit from eBay to confirm the details are correct.

·1 year agoeBay Sellers no longer use PayPal for accepting payments. eBay operates a "managed payments" system to make deposits directly into sellers' bank accounts.
