Retaliatory Feedback
Summary: oakhillcabinets shared an experience of buying a watch from a seller that was falsely advertised, leading to a returned item and a neutral feedback left for the seller. Subsequently, the seller purchased a watch from oakhillcabinets’s listings and left a negative feedback, perceived as retaliatory. The discussion highlighted issues around fair feedback practices, with suggestions to use separate accounts for buying and selling to avoid such conflicts. Participants debated the responsibilities of sellers to accurately describe items and the obligations of buyers to ask clarifying questions.
I’ve got a good one for ya.Maybe you’ve heard of it ,maybe not.I purchased what was listed as a men’s true chronograph watch from CANT NAME THEM.upon receiving the watch realized that it was a fake chronograph and was just a regular quartz watch.Return went fine. Got my money. They got their watch back.A week later,The seller buys a watch from my listings, receives the watch promptly,Then with no notice leaves negative feedback and lies about his reasons for returning. In all fairness. I did leave neutral feedback for him on the watch return, because he listed it as a true chronograph and it was just a plain quartz watch. The watch he bought I had just bought a couple of weeks before and the seller had tested and listed it as perfect condition which it was when I received it and it was when I sent it to secondchancestores1. I feel like it was retaliatory feedback for returning his”True Chronograph “ which it wasn’t.Sellers beware you might need the block people that buy from you after you return their item. That was SOMEONE THAT NEEDS NAMING

·3 weeks agoIMHo the mistake you made was buying and selling on the same account. You should probably create a second buying account to protect your selling account from retaliation.

·3 weeks ago · Edited@oakhillcabinets You describe the watch in your post here as "perfect." You listed it as "Excellent." That watch is not perfect nor should it have been listed as excellent. At best it is good.
A buyer should not have to send a seller a question about the condition of an item anymore than you should have to send a question about whether a watch is a true chronograph. You expected the seller in your case to have a factual listing. They expected the same of you. It appears you both are trying to sneak something by buyers, only the other party to this isn't here complaining about a feedback they got and deserved and they certainly aren't naming and shaming you.

OP3 weeks agoNo the seller I bought it from listed it as perfect.I listed it as excellent and it was as close as you can get.It was tested and kept good time and all Chronograph functions worked PERFECTLY.I wouldn’t buy anything used without asking questions. And your a fool if you do.I can’t be responsible for the questions you don’t ask.Its as much responsibility of the buyer ask as it is to For the seller to list.

·3 weeks agoI'm just impressed that you're not spazzing out about the neg, despite it being fairly "expensive" (a 1.7-point percentage drop). Some sellers come here rippin' hellcats after a neg dropped them to 99.7% or whatever, like anything under 100 is going to ruin their life.

·3 weeks agoI'm so sorry they did this to you. And that he negged you after being uphappy with the legitimate neutral feedback you left clearly (at least to me) shows the obvious retaliation.
(Note that in a case like this, it isn't even necessary to name the scoundrel because your feedback left offers full disclosure!)
You might have trouble proving to ebay that this was a purposeful purchase made with the intention of negging you.
You'll have to point out (concisely) that you made a purchase that wasn't "as described" and after you left a neutral feedback for the seller, the seller used the same ID to make a purchase from you solely to leave a retaliatory negative feedback.
Note also that this is a good reason to use a separate ID for buying!

OP3 weeks agoYour missing the point. You can nick pick anything enough to return. This one,if you did read it.is about retaliatory feedback.not nick picking a $2.00 band.

·3 weeks ago@oakhillcabinets you cannot 'name and shame' on this forum (which you did twice by stating their name). Best to 'edit' and remove that name or the mods will do it for you.
