Reserve price confusion
Please help me understand why my fee was $112.50 for an auction where I set a reserve price of $1,500. It was my understanding that the fee was 5%. I thought the fee would be $75. Any chance the fee is returned if the auction doesn’t reach the reserve? Tyvm

The reserve fee is charged to you whether your auction sells or not. I believe it is also not refundable.

·11 months agoI would strongly recommend ditching the auction reserve idea and just make a fixed listing price where someone can buy it now or make an offer to you which you would be ok with. Auctions will more than likely as you witnessed will not reach market value. Auctions favor the buyers who want a great deal not the sellers who are looking for market value.

·11 months agoIts simple, the cost of a auction reserve on ebay is 7.5% of the reserve. $112.5 is 7.5% of $1500
setting a reserve is a really bad idea in my opinion, many buyers myself included will absolutely not bid on a auction with reserve, a much better way is set the opening bid at $1,500 for free.

·11 months agoYou were billed correctly. The fee is 7.5% of the reserve, whether it meets the reserve or not.
If you use it again, start the bidding at a $1 to generate more early interest.
