reselling other peoples sales
Over Christmas I tried to order solar panel from City plumbing, but collection only. So I ordered one off Ebay, which they bought and waited to have delivered from city plumbing! Left this on feedback with pic but pic removed! Will feedback be?
This was not available for delivery from city plumbing when I tried to order. So purchased this off Ebay and was delivered today with another I purchased from City plumbing. Pic sums it all!

·1 year agoOr did you only want one panel, refused to buy from the local guy because they don't deliver unless they are installing then were embarrassed to learn that they will deliver (anywhere in the country including locally) when customers buy online?
Was there a big difference in the price of the panels?
Are you sure you have the skills to install the panels?

OP1 year agoI ordered the panel from city plumbers after the Ebay one, who only sell, they are not installers! The Ebay seller did the same sending it to my address but instead of charging me £65! Charged me £100! The
panels are very easy to install, you simply connect them to a power generator to store, I received the panel and fitted it against a wall in 5 minutes - it took me longer to sort out the waste packaging! ATM it is generating 65w of power and its a wintery day! The generator was empty and not it is 43% full! Sun just came out and upped power to 190w input!!! I also have some connected to Invertor and controller with storage to led batteries, they run my fish tanks etc and for example last night from 5-6 I turned my mains off because Octopus Energy asked for savings! Everything ran on batteries and I could have ran on batteries for much longer!
You knew what the charges for shipping were when you bought on eBay. And now you're complaining about it?
If you're not happy with your purchase then open a return case citing found cheaper elsewhere and return it. Simple solution. But you will probably be paying to ship it back.

OP1 year agoIt is not worth the hassle, I soimply overpaid by £35! I accept this, it was the feedback I was on about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will it be removed as the picture was!

·1 year agoWell thankfully you posted a positive feedback for this seller, which is exactly what you should have done. IDK why you are complaining. You did what you needed to do so you could get power. The seller did NOTHING wrong. You knew and understood the pricing. You accepted that and purchased from the seller on Ebay. I'm not sure why you actually started this thread. It is a very normal thing for sellers on this site and others like it to resell items they purchased elsewhere. Heck lots of sellers buy things on Ebay and then turn around and resell them for more on Ebay. Happens all the time.
I am not sure why you seem to think this is some kind of wrong doing. Or that somehow you paid more unnecessarily. Maybe if you had more time you could have waited for the less expensive items from your local provider, but you decided you could not. All the decisions were yours. You did what you did because it was best for you.

·1 year agoBut the seller did NOTHING wrong. So what is it that you want people to know exactly? That buyers need to do their own homework on pricing so they can purchase whatever they need for the best price available to them?!?!? That is the buyer's responsibility NOT the seller's.
I read the feedback you left for this seller. Thank goodness it was a positive FB because if you had of posted a negative complaining about your local company it would have likely been removed as it has nothing to do with the transaction you had on Ebay.
Ebay has been around for almost 30 years now. Buyers should be well aware that they need to do their own price checking before purchasing. Buyers do not have the right to complain about pricing on a listing once they made the decision to purchase it. They accepted the price when they purchased and paid for the item. If they felt it was too high, the buyer should never have purchased it.

·1 year agoYou bought a solar panel from City Plumbing . You picked up the panel at their location.
This was not an eBay sale .
You ordered a solar panel through eBay.
The seller (which may be City Plumbing or a subsidiary) delivered the panel. The carrier was City Plumbing.
It is not unusual for B&M companies to have an eBay site.
It is less usual for them to use a different name for their B&M retail business and their online retail business(es).
Because eBay is worldwide, the company may want to ship worldwide. Or just within the lower 48states. They get to choose the carrier.
Seeing you were in town, they may have just used their installers as delivery guys rather than paying UPS.
They may keep their online stock separate from their B&M stock, for inventory control.
They may want to sell locally only if they are also installing, thus asking that buyers pick up rather than using their skilled workers as delivery grunts.
The main point is that you got what you paid for.
A panel you picked up for self-installation and a panel that was delivered for self-installation.

OP1 year agoNo the seller was nothing to do with city plumbing, and I paid for delivery of the panel I ordered. I could have ordered the panel myself for £65! Because they said no delivery, only collection at the time, I went through Ebay and someone else arranged to buy it and have it delivered once they restarted deliveries by city plumbers then charge me £100!

In other words, there was a middleman in there somewhere on eBay who made £30. Is that correct?
As far as I know, there is nothing improper about that.
In fact, the middleman (who can arrange shipping) might be working with the supplier (city plumbing) who cannot, except through a third party (the middleman).

OP1 year agoyes, like if I asked you for one, and you paid City Plumbers to send it to me, and I made you £35 ! Simply because when I approached City plumbers over Christmas they must have suspended delivery!

OP1 year agoThe issue is the panel cost £64.56 and £5 delivery done by City Plumbing! I paid £99.99 simply for him making me wait and then arrange to buy it from city plumbers.
So you bought 2 solar panels one from a seller on eBay and the other from a company not on eBay and received both? So? What's the problem?
