Reporting a message
Has anyone ever experienced any actual ebay consequence when reporting a message thru the message center? I just reported one for threatening to use a different account to purchase from me with defamatory and abusive intentions. He wasn't even on my BBL account (yet) since he was able to message me with that threat.

·4 months agoI'm not sure what you are asking. You appear to be suggesting you are concerned about punishment from eBay becuase you reported a message. What do you mean by "eBay consequence?"

OP4 months agoSorry I was unclear. I meant to ask if anyone can verify if ebay takes any action against the accused when someone reports another member for sending an inappropriate message using the three dots button to report the message. This is different from reporting a buyer who purchased something from you.
I don't recall seeing the "report message" option around here until rather recently so I've never reported a message until now.

eBay doesn't usually let someone know what actions they can or cannot take based on a report. Last year or so, I used the Report feature in eBay messaging to report harassing emails from a Buyer. Within a few days, the messages stopped. So my experience was a positive one.

OP4 months agoDid you add that buyer to your blocked bidders/buyers list around the time you reported the buyer? If so, then that’s the reason why you stopped getting messages from that buyer. Because doing so inherently blocks your account from receiving those messages despite the buyer still being able to send them out.
