Repeat Buyer Notification, have you been seeing it?
Just curious if this is just me or if it's gone away? In the last few months, I feel like I've only seen the 'Repeat Buyer' notification, when someone buys multiple items in 2 separate orders. I've had a couple of buyers that I think have bought from me before & got no notice, but I chalked it up to not knowing for sure. But the other day, I got a purchase from a buyer I KNOW 99.9% has bought from me before, but again, no 'Repeat Buyer' notice. I even checked the Order Details. Maybe they did it 2 years & 1 day ago, so it didn't qualify, but I feel like something is up with the notification.
Anyone else feel like they're missing the notifications? Or are you all still getting them as expected? TIA.

OP1 year ago@a_c_green Sorry, I've been traveling, but thank you for the info. I found it myself before I even read your reply, but you are correct!

·1 year agoI only am alerted to a customer being a repeat customer AFTER the sale... not before... which I think is ridiculous. I'd rather know BEFORE obviously.

How and why would Ebay alert you BEFORE the buyer purchased anything? When they view your item? How would this work and why?

·1 year agoI see it if a buyer makes an offer. That's the only time it would matter, I might accept a lower offer from a repeat customer that I know is likely to keep spending money with us than another buyer with no record, although not by much.

OP2 years agoThank you everyone! Sounds like it may be a bit glitchy, but, so can my memory as I get older LOL. I know the most recent buyer has bought from me before, but time does fly, so maybe it's just been over 2 years. I know I think it's been 2 years since my husband complimented me & he'd tell me it was yesterday 😀 Truth is probably somewhere in between😉
Thank you @wastingtime101 for sharing the future, that's something I've wanted for a long time!

·2 years agoFor me they have been appearing. Except it is consistently not marking some buyers as repeat if it has been somewhere around a year or more since they purchased. I'm honestly not sure of how old the sale has to be to not be considered a repeat customers, I'm just guessing.
Summer is my slow months, so unfortunately sales are down right now. However they pick up usually in about mid September.

OP2 years agoThank you for sharing. Based on my memory from when the feature was released, I believe it was 2 years. I may be wrong on that, as I don't have time to look it up right now.
I feel you, really slow for me right now too.

·1 year agoI think it was 2 years too. It might be the same look-back time as what you can get now for minimal past sales records (i.e. you can see the listing title and basic payment details, but you can no longer view the listing itself).
I can't swear to this, but I have an idea that you don't see the "Repeat Buyer" indicator until after they have paid for the most recent purchase (which I guess makes sense, since they're not really a buyer until they pay).
EDIT: Okay, it is indeed two years. If you roll your cursor over the green "Repeat buyer" indicator, it will pop up a caption reading "Based on last 2 years of data".

·2 years agoAs far as I can tell the repeat buyer tag is appearing as it always does @simply-the-best-for-you . I've glanced over orders from the past 2 weeks and I'm seeing the tag a lot and not just in situations where buyers placed multiple consecutive orders, but also with buyers that last purchased a month, two months, a year ago.
Having said that ...
I am really looking forward to the repeat buyer updates coming our way over the next couple of months. See the link in my signature below. When those hub updates roll out to everybody there is a new interface where you can click the repeat buyer tag and a pop up will appear that will link you to all their past orders (in the timeframe).
If you're not seeing the tag as you should, I'd say wait it out until the new Hub view is rolled out to your account.

·2 years agoIt seems to be working for the most part for me, But...on occasion I will recognize the buyer ID and it does not say "repeat buyer" in my order history.
I have also noticed on my repeat purchases from sellers it does not always say

·2 years agoI see them sometimes...and sometimes I don't.
But if a 'new buyer 'makes two separate payments on the same day...I see 'repeat buyer' but it's really a new buyer.
Yea...not unusual for me to have someone make 10+ separate payments for same day and it states 'repeat buyer'...but it's a new buyer. The system doesn't always work like it is suppose to.
I look at the names now to see if they are repeat buyer. I actually hand write all my addresses.

one purchase was over a year ago and the other in past 6 months.
