Relisting Items (only to find out I already sold them!)
Been running into issues lately. I relist my "unsold items". I list hundreds of items and can't keep up with all of them. My assumption is that if they are in the "unsold category" and I have the option to "relist" that I haven't sold the item previously. Lately, I relist - item sells (again) and I'm out of stock.
Why is this?

·3 years agoI ran a download to show my active and unsold items. Then I did a comparison to my drafts I made from unsold items. I found that the report displays all sold and unsold when I run the unsold. I had to go through the spreadsheet and color code what is active, unsold and drafts. Then look at the rest and determine from MRG (a third party accounting website) to see what sold.
I think the last changes eBay did caused this headache and time consuming project for both of us.
I've also seen on other reseller YouTube videos they have encountered sold items have displayed as active, allowing them to be sold. If you tell the customer it was an eBay glitch, and then get in touch with eBay, it should not be put against you in a negative way.

·3 years agoNever make assumptions, in your Ended Listing page there are sold and unsold listings, be careful that you are only relisting unsold items. Use the drop down menu to separate sold from unsold.

You don't have to keep up with the active listings , but it is a good idea to actually check that your Unsolds are available before relisting.
Do you keep your discs in alphabetical order by artist?
Then do the same for your titles.
When you go to relist, you can easily put the Unsolds into alphabetical order and crosscheck from one list to the other.
From time to time I do put my Active listings (only about 1100 on this ID) into alphabetical order and check for duplications.
I usually find half a dozen problems- including possible relisted Sold items.

·3 years agoYou need to get on top of your inventory - eBay is not always reliable when tracking solds/unsolds. The site is enormous with 1.7 billion listings last count, and no database is 100%.
