REFUNDED A BUYER. IS THE USE OF PAYPAL NO LONGER AN OPTION?
I partially refunded a buyer for postage. But I could not seem to use PayPal. Is that no longer an option? Had to use checking account. Thanks.

路4 months agoRefund through ebay, not paypal.聽 This is 2026 not 2006. 馃檪 PayPal's been long gone from the ebay equation. When you refund through ebay, you get a partial refund on your fees too.

路4 months agoA lot of Ebay sellers, particularly infrequent sellers, continue to attempt to use PayPal when they should not be using PayPal.

Now that Ebay and PayPal are no longer related, the extra steps and risks of error associated with "too many cooks" have been eliminated.

路4 months agoYou don't want to refund through Pay Pal.
If the buyer files an INAD, they'll get a full refund, plus what you refunded through Pay Pal.

A bit off-topic, but refunds sent through PayPal won't get you any fee credits.

路4 months agoIf your customer purchased item recently, easiest way is to "refund" customer through EBAY (that way EBAY is kept in the loop and knows what happened).

聽You would go to ORDERS, ALL ORDERS (select SEND REFUND).聽 聽 You should that if you want to give customer a "refund for postage or item they purchased".

If that is not an option available to you, then you would have to make arrangements "outside EBAY".

路4 months agoPaypal are no longer connected.....since 2015 or so......聽 Can't use them directly from ebay.聽 You can independently go to PP and do a refund, if you have the buyer email (assuming the buyer has a PP account.聽聽
