Refund pulled from my debt card and not from the funds on hold
I approved a refund thinking they would pull the money from the funds on hold but for some reason the pulled the whole refund straight from my debt card. Does that mean I'll get the funds that are on hold once I get the item back?

·5 months agoYou might have refunded too early, just have to wait and see...but sellers must finance their own returns, regardless. Keep this in mind that if you plan to sell expensive items, you need money to back up the return. Once the hold is removed, you will get those funds. Hopefully you can see, this system places all the risk on the buyers, ebay minimizes their exposure. Typically, you can only use money/fund on hold/processing for shipping labels

·5 months agoDid you issue the refund (from your debit card) before the buyer shipped the item? If that's the case, the buyer may not even be able to return the item because once a refund is issued, they can't access the return shipping label.

Hoping for you that you learn two things... 1) the answer to your question, plus 2) 'to approve a Return', which means you refund upon the item's return to you. Good luck.

·5 months agoIf you don't have the avaliable funds to cover a refund, they pull the funds from your backup payment source.
When the hold is released, those funds will be sent to you.

·5 months agoOnce funds are put on hold, they are frozen. They can only be used for a refund when they are 'available.' I wait until that time before refunding. Actually, I wait until the item is returned before refunding. Never refund until items are back in your possession. The funds will be yours once they are cleared & made available. Cheers!
