Recent uptick in INR cases for anyone else?

I normally get a handful every year. I've had 4 or 5 this week alone. Each and everyone of them because buyers don't double check their addresses. Its starting to be a pain in the butt. Hopefully its just an outlier and not the standard for this year for me.

Just spent the past half hour on the phone with CS dealing with a "buyer" (scammer), who tried to file an INR four business days after her shipment went out. When the ebay system wouldn't allow it (because it was FOUR days), this charmer filed a dispute with her bank. The item was delivered a day later. The dispute was closed.

Today, eight days after she received the item, she attempts another dispute with her bank for the same item as an INAD. No one can even help this jerk because she went around ebay by going to her bank and voided the MBG. I happily offer free returns, but she even voided that because of her shifty nonsense.

The worst part is the person never contacted me before or during the dispute. I waited 48 hours for a reply after contacting her, finally blocking her after ebay said there was nothing I or they could do for her. According to the CS rep, she finally messaged me three days ago, but lord only knows what **bleep** she was spewing at that point (I can't see it). Now I have my first and only negative feedback, and am waiting on the appeal. All for a piddly little coin purse.

This time of year is just gross. Everyone is broke from the holidays, the weather delays things, and all the slimiest of the slimies are out in full force.

I am not disagreeing with you, but I've recently stopped replying to negative feedback simply because I believe those replies can do more harm than good.

I hear ya. I'm not sure how my replies would harm me, but I'm okay with it if they do. I know there are supposed "new" buyers who are really just scammers. I don't mind them knowing that I will make it hard for them, and legit buyers should be happy to see I provide free returns with no questions asked.

Must not have read my initial post and only replying on my title. Has nothing to do with my delivery time but everything to do with ebay buyer's not checking to make sure their addresses are correct.

Didn't feel like creating a new thread about it, but here is an interesting one I've never ran into my entire time being here.

A potential buyer wrote me late last night, (from which I have yet to respond) asking me to decrease my BIN by $40, then followed that message up with three more messages linking me to items they wanted ME to purchase and send to THEM and they would refund me once they got the my item and the other ones they want me to buy and send them.

Unless you think that the general public is getting dumber, I would say it was just a fluke that you got so many in such a short amount of time.

The shipping times for me are about average. Maybe a day or two longer for USPS advantage depending on where its going. My issues are buyers not paying attention to their shipping addresses. I would say I likely get around 4-5 a year and I've gotten 4-5 INR in the last week alone. One of them was for a pretty cheap item $25 plus I believe $13 shipping. Actual shipping cost was around $16. Buyer expected me to ship back on my dime when the item was returned to me. This was after they filed an INR case. In which since then they lost the INR, filed an appeal, won the appeal and lost the appeal I filed a few minutes later.

They then filed with their payment processor for chargeback (for which I'm covered) and purchased another item from me. Which led to me cancelling it and a block (which I thought I already did) I hate the stupid block buyer's list edit error. Been going on for years and still hasn't been fixed.

I thought the same as you did at first. Ebay is saying that a few one or more of the buyer IDs in your blocked list has become invalid because their account is no longer registered with ebay. So they removed those IDs from your list. If you click submit again, you won't see that error because ebay already purged those invalid IDs out of your list.

OP's problem seems just a little different from yours. He/she is stating that all of their INR cases opened in just one week are because buyers haven't made sure their shipping address is correct when paying for their purchases.

Doesn't it seem odd to have 4-5 of those in a week? As well as creepy.

I wouldn't say dumber, but I don't recall ever getting more than 2 in a week. It might be a good sign in a way. Could mean more old time ebayer buyer's are purchasing from ebay again after a long hiatus.

@imalwaysright I haven't really looked to see actually why it happens. It just will say error or some short message like that when I go to add a buyer to my blocked list. That could be why but I think it happens every or almost every time I block someone. I try and catch it every time but not always. I do find myself adding far more buyers to it than ever before. Likely running out of patience as I get older who knows.

One thing I finally just did was get rid of buyer's being able to leave note's at checkout for me that I don't see until I print the label. Adding a note like that after purchase is not a good time to confirm what AI told them about if its the right item, my opinion on troubleshooting if it will fix an issue AND confirm it will arrive in 3 days. I've been pretty good about just ignoring the little messages but that one was enough. The meant well but those should all be asked prior to purchased not after on a small note I MIGHT read during check out.
