Received negative feedback but it's not true
I lost my house due to a foreclosure about 6 months ago I had no pg&e for 3 months. Ebay puts my money on hold and I didn't any money to ship the items I sold so a fee buyers left me negative feedback. After I sold my house I had the money to ship these items and I did. All the buyers where refunded and also received there items FOR FREE and they left me negative feedback so now I have a 2200.00 selling limit and that's wrong it's not right. What can I do? ·2 years agoThe OP's career at eBay has been a long one for sure. I have never seen so many buyers write such long stories about their experiences with this "seller". She's dragged people on for months and told them excuse after excuse FOR YEARS. Her feedback history going back years is a novel. Unreal.

·2 years agoI'm so sorry for your limits and your personal issues, but I'm going to be the one that gives you the tough love. I've been in foreclosure and I know it takes months for it to go through. It took me a year to sort everything out.
You have listings up? it is your obligation to ship your items within your handling time. If you can't, you go to the library or a friend or family member, use their computer and end the listings. It's not ebay's fault and it is right for them to limit you because buyers need protection and should get the products in the specified time that you said you would mail them out. You know you failed them and your feedback is a reflection of their experience with you.
All you can do is ship asap and treat your customers like you value them.

·2 years agoYep, same here (long story why, let's just say he's an ex for a reason).
I even found a buyer who would pay what the bank was happy with who was willing to let me buy it back on a RTO basis, but the ex put the moxie on that because he "didn't think it was fair I'd get the house". Couldn't see that yes I would, but also the new mortgage.

Where I am, NYC, if you go into foreclosure you have to go before a judge, with the mortgagor, and work out a refi of some type or another resolution to the foreclosure. Then the judge hears the terms the mortgagor is offering and the mortgagee gets to accept them and it is all recorded in the court records. I actually worked with my bank and refinanced and I'm still in my home. The decision was 7 or 8 years ago. I know every circumstance is different and I was lucky.

If you didn't have the money (and didn't use the funds paid to you through ebay) to purchase shipping labels, why did you tell at least 3 of the 4 buyers who complained that you had shipped their purchases?
1. Claims she shipped the item over two weeks ago
2. even posted "shipped" with no tracking.
3. Seller never sent the product. Said she did told me to let her know when it arrived.
As a buyer, I would find lying more of a problem than had a seller been honest and truthful.

·2 years agoI can understand, given the circumstances, being too stressed to even THINK about ebay, but I'm pretty sure the funds would have available to ship from available funds.
I've never had an issue using available funds for postage.
In hindsight the OP should have just refunded if they couldn't ship and taken the hits to their account for OOS (and taken down their listings).
Heck, if OP had been honest with the buyers some may have even agreed to ask for a cancel.
ETA: what the heck is pg&e?

I guess you still can sell it if your in the process of foreclosure but OPs post was a little strange reading it, almost playing that " sympathy card".
I completely missed that. Not possible to sell a home thats in foreclosure.

·2 years agoTechnically they didn't "lose it" to foreclosure. It would have been IN foreclosure but they managed to do a "short sale" before it got to the final point.
That's my guess anyway.

·2 years agoThe foreclosure process begins after someone is late 3 months. It takes another 3-6 for the bank to take it back, but the borrower can sell the house during that time when you are in foreclosure for market value. They can also do what's called a short sale, where it is less than the mortgage amount, but the bank has to approve it. If you don't do one of those things, then the bank continues with the foreclosure and they own the property. It's repossessed for the most part. They then sell it to recoup their money. The borrower is out of the picture at that point.

Very sorry for your situation. However your personal problems are not the customers problems. You need to stay focused on business and how it works. My suggestion would be to try to be more attentive not only to your shop, be attentive and professional when it comes to your customers in every positive way.

·2 years agoIt looks like you have a bad habit of not shipping what your buyers have paid for. My advice is that selling and shipping are NOT FOR YOU. You have a bad track record according to your feedback. I would suggest selling in a way (like locally) that does not involving YOU having to ship. Face to face transactions.
With your feedback, I would not buy a thing from you because you do a very bad job of shipping . You seem good at offering buyers excuses, but not good at actually shipping the item. eBay does not need sellers like that, and buyers don't want to buy from sellers like that.
Personally, I think eBay is being way too forgiving with your account. After hosing that many buyers, your account should have been banned.

·2 years agoBased on the feedback you received, you should have been more honest with your customers to begin with; explaining you had no access to the funds to ship anything. I had no problem telling customers the truth when ebay did this crap to me. Let them have the opportunity to cancel if they refuse to wait, rather than leaving them hanging.

·2 years agoThis is ridiculous. How does ebay expect sellers to ship their orders with no money?
ebay did this to me years ago, withholding all my funds while I had close to 50 orders waiting to be shipped. I called and asked them how they expect me to ship the orders with no money? I told them to release the funds or I cancel every order.
ebay relented and released enough funds for me to ship everything, and this is the way it should be for all sellers. Now it seems they refuse to do that anymore, incredibly unfair.

·2 years agoIf you are not in a position to sell and cover the necessary business expenses, then don't commit to something you are not prepared to do. Every sale here is a BUSINESS transaction. If you are not prepared to conduct business then don't.
WE all sell and buy by the same rules.
And yes, people DO get up and go to work every day, even if they don't need the money. Your statement is silly and untrue. Just because you are mad at eBay, does that alter reality for you? No one is forcing you to sell here. If you think the game is too tough, you can always find something else to do.

·2 years agoSorry to hear of the troubles. You are fortunate to still be able to sell. Just don't make any mistakes moving forward with sales. After a few months of successful sales you can ask to have your limits increased once every 30 days. You will have to build it back with one sales limit increase at a time.

·2 years agoUnfortunately it is true. If you felt you could not ship, or be in any position to sell on eBay because you lost your home and in a bad place, you should have ended all your listings. Those that sold, you should have shipped them. Even if you had to borrow money to ship, you should have done that.
eBay has shown you lots of compassion by letting you still sell. Normally this would lead to a ban on selling on eBay. Just keep selling and shipping and soon your selling limits will be increased. You have to prove to eBay you can handle shipping several items. For eBay, the limit on you limits their financial risk.

·2 years ago"you" refunded after 3 months? Or ebay refunded? You're lucky they didn't suspend you....... Sorry for the personal problems, but that's not considered an adequate excuse for not fulfilling your obligations.
As said, best you can do is deliver quickly and build up enough "credibility" to ask for increases in limits.

If you decide you are not able to ship did you try to refund buyer's payment?
How is the Buyer to know you are not trying to keep the money when you are not shipping their items to them?

It costs money to ship, and its ridiculous you think people should have magical money laying around to ship things with, all while ebay wont allow them access to the funds.
ebay could release enough funds to ship items, a very simply solution.

Have not heard of not being able to buy eBay shipping labels out of held funds. That is part of the program, buyer pays, seller buys eBay shipping label out of the held funds, seller ships, buyer receives item, eBay releases funds according to seller's account status.
If a seller wants to buy shipping labels outside of eBay, a seller needs operating funds. That is a choice the seller makes.

I get ebay withholding funds in some situations, but they should at least make enough funds available to ship orders.

All I am saying is sellers can purchase eBay shipping labels but not to expect to have funds available to transfer to their bank account to buy labels outside of ebay.
Trusting sellers that demonstrate that they take money and don’t ship items isn’t a winning proposition. Fronting funds to them seems like throwing good money after bad.

·2 years agoAnd it's happened to me before too. Except you COULD buy a label through eBay on your funds on hold. Either you didn't understand something right, you are not telling the truth, or some glitch happened to you a long time ago.
If my funds were held today, yes, I can still buy a label through eBay to ship the purchase. Not making an argument out of it, just stating what I know to be true.

·2 years agoWhen a buyer has paid, the payment can be used to purchase the shipping labels. That part of the funds aren't on hold and @jujusales could have and should have shipped.

Get back on track, and the limit can be increased when your performance improves.

I’m not sure what a forecloser has to to with the items you listed to sell on eBay.
Your buyers paid so you had money to ship, cost of postage is deducted from the funds on hold or pending.
The feedback left by your buyers is their opinion of the sale and doesn’t qualify for removal.
All sellers have monthly selling limits. All you can do is sell items, ship them in a timely manner. And eventually your selling limits will increase. eBay evaluates seller accounts on the 20th of every month. That is when they will determine if you qualify for an increase.
