How to get rid of the 'Ready to Resell' feature?
Is this an AI concept? It is very disappointing that ebay have chosen to include this feature on my eBay home page. It would be better if they included a 'Ready to Close Your Account' feature because if they keep doing this unnecessary stuff that is exactly what will be happening.

·1 week agoIt's not disappointing. Ebay is encouraging users to sell items. I just ignore it. To close your account over this seem over the top. Makes no sense at all. If you feel that way might as well do it now cause it's not going away.

Change can be great, but not when it's backwards.

·1 week agoWhen browsing the internet, there is a lot of information which any sane person ignores.
This is part of the cost of using the internet, and many of us are trained to disregard it. Many of us are trained to disregard important information as well.

·1 week agoI've heard a lot of reasons why people want to close their account, but this just might be the most ridiculous one yet. If everyone who saw something on this website that was dopey or just didn't interest them and decided to close their account over it, there wouldn't be anybody left.

·1 week agoI sold a couple things the other day, and immediately after I shipped, there appeared RELIST buttons next to them on my Manage All Orders page.
There's a lot here that doesn't make sense.
Who is designing this stuff?

·1 week agoYou can use an adblocker to ignore that element on the page if it bothers you that much.
Personally I find it helpful as a way to resell things I don't need anymore. But not every feature is going to be for me. Yet for the ones that I don't use, I don't expect ebay to delete them for everyone just because I don't use it myself.
If you feel you're better off closing your account, that's your prerogative. You do you :)

OP1 week agoI don't know how I got the large bold letters, it was down to my unfamiliarity with this medium. I was trying to format the heading.

·1 week agoYes. It is an unnecessary distraction and I plan to never use it. But it is just a way for ebay to encourage more listings/sales.
But it is SO easy to just ignore it. I've got better things to stress over.

·1 week agoFirst off, let me admit that I no longer sell here; however, when I did, and even now, I found it pretty easy to ignore messages, just like I ignore ads in the local newspaper that don't interest me. It saddens me to think that others don't have/use that option.

OP1 week agoI hear what your saying, and it is a valid point. However, the Ready to Resell banner has items I bought three years ago, long since worn out and binned. I would like to ignore it but the stupidity and futility of it registers.

·1 week agoAs I buy mostly collectibles, I still have things from years ago. The feature is not useful to me but it is to others. And there is no way taylor it to anyone's specific needs.

OP1 week agoIt would be useful to have the facility to disable the function. My mother never could get her head around computers/technology and I would make eBay purchases for her. Sadly Mum passed earlier this year, being confronted by items she wanted when I log into my account can be upsetting.
