Random Application Of Top Rated Seller FVF Discount
Over the past week I've sold ~ 10 items in the book/cd/dvd/lp category that I'm eligible for the 10% discount. I received it on 6 items but strangely with 2 books that sold for the most, >$100, didn't as well as 1 item in the other category. No explanation; don't tell me I'm only eligible if I offer automatic free returns because it is not true. As always contacting ebay is useless. Paying 15.3% on the total amount is what I accept but at least ebay should be expected to handle the payouts as per their own rules/policy without having to waste my time with futile inquires.

OP8 months agoI previously indicated that my FVF discount was being randomly applied for books/CDs/DVDs/lps and one replier insisted that it was because I didn't automatically accept returns. For the past 3 weeks every sale, 10, in the appropriate categories has been discounted the stated 10%.

·8 months agoThat's good. I wonder why you were having issues previously with getting the discount? Did you compare the listings to find out if there were any differences?

Based on a perusal of your sold items it seems like you have "No Returns" policy on your more expensive items.
As others have mentioned in order to qualify for the 10% off you do have to offer at least a 30 day in most categories. Are you afraid of having to take a return on your more expensive items?

You are correct that you do not have to offer free returns in those categories. You do, however, have to accept returns.
From the link @dhbookds posted:
Both of your items that sold for over $100 in those categories recently show that you do not accept returns at all:

OP8 months agoUnderstood; not sure why it indicates that I don't accept returns under any circumstance, because I do, or again why I'm receiving it for some but not other items in the same category. Is there a way to use bulk editing to indicate you will accept returns if the buyer pays the postage (obviously items returned for cause are accepted regardless).
Thanks,

·8 months agoThe way to do that depends on whether you use the Business Policies feature. If you do, you have to edit the Return Policies separately in the Business Policies page, but then they apply to all listings using that particular policy. If you don't use Business Policies, you can select everything in your Active Listings and choose Edit -> Edit Selected at the top.
Edit: And it says that because that is the return policy you specified on the listing. eBay doesn't change that for you. If you did a "Sell Similar" from another seller's listing, though, it would have copied their policy from there.

Once you've reached Top Rated status, you can qualify your listings for these exclusive Top Rated Plus benefits if you offer same- or 1-business-day handling time and 30-day or longer free returns:

·8 months agoI noticed on the 1977 Unread Technical Analysis Of Stock Trends Edwards Magee 5th Edition 11th book you sold that you have "no returns policy". This is probably why you didn't get 10% discount on FVF.
