Question regarding Victorinox knife sales in the UK and Ireland.
I ship worldwide, but I have the UK and Ireland listed as two of my "excluded locations" under my shipping policy, specifically because they do not allow knife sales. Seemed pretty straight forward. On occasion, I will get an email that states: "The type of knife you listed is not permitted on eBay's UK site". I got one this morning. I checked the item number and it looks like the item was completely removed from my store and needs to be relisted now.
The type of knife isn't the issue. The issue is this: "The listing must also follow our international trading policy. For example, the sale of knives on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie is prohibited with limited exceptions."
Yes, I understand I can't sell knives to these two countries, which is precisely why I excluded them from the places where I will ship. I have almost 1,000 knives listed on my store and all of them have the same worldwide shipping policy excluding the UK and Ireland. Are all of my listings showing up on the eBay UK and eBay Ireland site? If so, why am I not getting 1,000 emails saying "your knives are not allowed here". I'm only getting one email every now and then. How do I stop my listings from showing up on the UK and Ireland sites? I wasn't even aware that this was happening, because I thought I took care of the issue when I excluded those countries in my shipping policy. My concern now is that all my items are showing up over there and I don't want to get flagged as someone who isn't abiding by eBay's policy. I'm trying to do the right thing here, but I don't know how! Any help would be appreciated.

·2 years agoWhen checking your listings as if I was in the UK (also available in Ireland)..........I see one knife available:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225705011754?hash=item348d112a2a:g:pWsAAOSwbPNkyoZE
don't know why it wouldn't be excluded by your rules, but apparently is not.......

OP2 years agoThank you. It looks like the following countries are on the exclusion list for that listing: Barbados, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Israel, Libya, Martinique, New Caledonia, Reunion, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Venezuela.
I don't remember making that exclusion, so I'll look into it further. I may be getting another email about that listing, but at least it's only one and not 1,000. But I've gotten about 3 different emails in total and I worry that I'm going to get banned or face some sort of punishment from eBay.
*Update* It looks like that was the only listing under a particular shipping policy. The other 950 listings were on a different policy, so it would appear that I may have corrected the issue.

The exclusion listed you posted is put on all listings by ebay, some like Ukraine or Israel for obvious reasons.

You need to set up your international shipping preferences to where you don't ship certain things to the UK. When you list internationally, it gives you different areas of the world to ship to. Go to your excluded areas of you shipping preferences, click on that and you will see the list of options of various countries. Uncheck the UK and you should be good to go.
Happy Selling

OP2 years agoAs you can see at the bottom, I was under the impression I had already done that.
