Question about USPS Ground Advantage Insurance Claim Question After Marked Delivered
So I have a question maybe someone has encountered this as I have not. I have a package that was sent via USPS Ground Advantage on Feb 7th and has been marked as delivered on the 8th, however, it was sent and marked as delivered to a different zip code even to a different state. Label was purchased through eBay so no manual entry was done; no error on my end. If need be that I would need to file a USPS insurance claim, would it be automatically rejected because it has been marked as delivered (even though to a completely different place than destination)? Also, do I need to wait the 15 days to file the insurance claim? When I start the insurance claim it does not alert me that the claim is outside the filing window as it does for others (red warning under the drop down). I just want to be sure that if I file the claim, it won't be denied because of timing, thank you. Let me know if someone has experienced this.

·2 years agoThe tracking/delivery part of it sounds like a scenario that has happened to me several times over the years.
The carrier that picks up my mail, when they go to scan your package as received, they mistakenly choose 'Delivered' instead of 'Received'. So, for example, the package was shipped to California, but with the carrier's mistake, it now appears Delivered to North Carolina.
Subsequent scans along the route as it passes through various sorting facilities never showed in the Tracking History, because apparently 'Delivered' trumps everything. However, when it *actually* got delivered, then it would update and show the correct delivery address, location, etc.
I wouldn't even have known about it, but the customer usually also gets a 'Your package is Delivered' notice and they message me very confused....

Yes, the scenario you are describing has happened to me many times before, but this is different. This was scanned just fine at my post office and I even checked with my Post Office and they were puzzled as they do see in their system that it was delivered somewhere else.

·2 years agoAre there any other intermediate scans logged in the tracking history? I'm wondering if someone further on down the line in the mailstream did a hand-scan at a sort facility with the "Delivered" setting chosen by mistake.
After all, it's pretty hard to deliver a package to the wrong City and ZIP unless there is an identical street address in that town (is there?) and several people in a row are misreading the City name on the label. I would wait a day or two and see if there is further activity on that tracking number.
