Quantity of items available and number sold in a single listing GONE???
The quantity available on listings is no longer showing the exact number available and only after one is sold its reads The #sold, but not how many more are left. Prior to today, 8/15/24, listings always showed the number available and how many have been sold. this feature on the App seems to be okay. WHATS goin on?
It used to show 4 available 2 sold... for example...this is NOT just my listings...I see it on everyones today

·2 years agoI am having the same problem for a listing that I have 3 items available. The best I could do with this situation was to revise the title and mention in the title that I have 3 available. And if I sell 1 or 2, I will have to remember to go back in and revise the title again. However, I added the available quantity at the end of the title so maybe people using the app might not see it.

Hey @tennis*star514! We apologize about the technical issue that yourself and others are experience with the quantity of items. There is a sitewide ticket that is open to have this resolved under ALERT15418.

·2 years agoThanks Devon. It's rather sad that when the feedback box popped up for me on this page it stated we have made changes to the page and want to hear what you like or dislike, but I can't tell what's a glitch and what's an intentional change. They pretty much look alike these days.

·2 years agoMine are still messed up. I had two purchases today from multi-quantity listings and I have to wonder if they might have ordered more than one if not for this change. I use Firefox. I submitted my feedback on this.

After the change I sold only one each on 3 orders after.
Firefox as well. I read in another thread, someone had eBay call them
and they said the tech team is working on it, as they had been
getting many complaints.

·2 years agoIt doesn't matter what browser I use, the number available still isn't showing. I just had someone contact me about an item thinking I only had 1 left when I have more than 1.

·2 years agoThis may have been mentioned already but it does look as if they modified the selling preferences options for that. You used to check off whether you wanted the total amount left to show when more than 10 were available. I don't see that option now but now the option is:
"Buyers can see exactly how many items are left."
Mine was defaulted to off so I turned it on then signed out and back in again on both .ca and .com. Then I could see how many items were left on .ca but I still can't see the amount left on .com.

·2 years agoI requested a call back from eBay customer service and just finished the call. The rep said there have been numerous calls regarding this issue. There is an open ticket and the tech team is working on it.

·2 years agoI have 10 of these available. My buyers usually buy multiples but now they have no clue how many I have. I also use the quantity available as a hint of where to look for the item.

It's Not. I have both- Edge Windows 10 and Chrome; it's basically ALL OVER the place.
Items with 5 or less SOMETIMES state 'only 5 left' 19 sold' and 'only 3 left, 35 sold' and then 'other items that I only had 4 or 5 as a quantity, it did NOT show ANYTHING.
Then, items that I have OVER 8 will say "Almost Gone" (with NOTHING about 'Sold'. ) and 8 is FAR from 'Almost Gone) since I never show more than 10 available.
My items are the same 600 items, all start as 10 avail and then I just edit (filter to 'lowest quan' first' and bring all the 2,3,5 etc. back to 10)

Multi unit listing:
Using Chrome on a PC.
A buyer can confirm the quantity if they do a check using the shipping calculator. Maybe they want sellers to list 1 at a time? Sell....relist? So just just another "intentional" roadblock for combined shipping.
In speaking to a seller that uses app quantity does display via a drop down. So PC users get to play a guessing game until this is resolved.

·2 years ago@inhawaii Your items do not show that, for me using both Edge Windows 10 (signed in) and Google Chrome (not ever signed in, just as a 'shopper') - it just shows '1' and 'XX sold' (for the Flobee Items for example). So it may for you but not for others.

I just looked at that very listing.
It shows me 67 available - 333 sold.
So you're right, I guess it's not affecting everyone.
FYI: I'm on a PC using Chrome.

·2 years agoMe too but the numbers are hidden for me as well. I was only able to find out that a listing I was looking at had 2 available by typing in a higher number for the Quantity and seeing a red error message telling me to select a lower number. I finally made tries down through 5-4-3 to 2. It was at 2 that the error message finally went away. That is just silly.

·2 years agoSo sounds like it's not affecting you but the problem is- how many SHOPPERS is it affecting and since I looked using Google Chrome NOT signed in, means most of the General Public are NOT seeing those important numbers!!

·2 years agoUsing Chrome and also seeing the bad display. From messaging a dot ca seller they are getting a dropdown with numbers using the app. This is NOT helpful for anyone using a pc.

·2 years agoWhat could possibly be the point of this change? It seems it could discourage sales since the buyer may assume you only have one available when they may have bought more than one.

·2 years agoI did, and I was a little friendlier about it than I was here. I simply explained how much more work is involved to figure out these things for someone who regularly buys in bulk than it used to be.

·2 years agoThis is utterly ridiculous because now I have to keep typing a number in the qty box and lowering it until it no longer says "enter a lower number." So the information is still publicly available, but that is a pain in the you know what to have to do that, especially for somebody like me who often buys things in bulk.
Combine that with the lack of a shipping tab, and now it is a ROYAL PAIN to try to figure out the actual shipping cost for multiple items. The only way I've found to do this is to put the items into my cart and then go halfway through the checkout process.
There's silly changes, and then there's stupid changes - and these fall well within the realm of stupid. I just don't get it.

·2 years agoPlease use the feedback link I pictured in one of my above posts @brandonsvsu and submit it. Those comments will go direct to the product development team responsible for the changes. The more people speaking out about the shipping tab quantity issue, and the listing page quantity issue, the better chance eBay will do something about it.

·2 years agoOn the bottom right @tennis*star514 - do you see that tiny "Feedback" square? Click on that. Submit your comments. I did.
eBay has been testing new changes to the listing page and apparently this is one of them. Your view is different @buyselljack2016 because eBay rolls these tests and changes out to different accounts at different times.
