PSA eBay Int'l Hub rejecting shipping "Computer Parts & Electronics" to Canada
Summary: timber_oak initiated a discussion about issues with eBay's international hub rejecting shipments of electronics and computer parts to Canada, possibly due to eWaste regulations restricting such exports. They expressed concern over potential liquidation of items and inquired whether others have experienced similar issues, suggesting that direct shipping via UPS or FedEx might be viable workarounds. onlinecentral responded by confirming that eBay International Shipping (eIS) has indeed stopped allowing shipments of these categories to Canada as of August 31, 2026.
Some suggest items are being destroyed or liquidated because of Trumps eWaste regulation restricting exports of "electronics". I've been hearing a lot about issues with "Electronics / Computer Parts & Accessories" category - eBay's international hub is rejecting exporting shipments.
When you see this message:
"Unfortunately, this order can not be delivered because it did not pass inspection at our international hub."
What does this mean?
You likely shipped item in Consumer Electronics or Computer Components & Parts categories
eBay allegedly conflating "Canada" as restricted destination but Trumps' eWaste regulation for exporting to China
What is going to happen?
Seems "highly unlikely" eBay keeps subsidizing eIS sellers for liquidation, I wouldn't be surprised when eIS turns off on Computers & Electronics
I wanted to open up a discussion on this topic. Have any of you experienced this issue, buyers are clearly frustrated? Have anyone shipped directly by UPS or Fedex to workaround this?

eBay should've made an announcement on adding USPS and UPS back for sellers exporting "Computers/Electronics" than scrapping everything at the hub quietly.
I mean reimbursing sellers $$$ can't go on forever, eventually listings will fall off ebay.ca or international search, leaving a crowded domestic market.
